Let me know if you find something easily workable for US citizens on this front.

I'm literally at the point where I'm hoping Amazon starts dealing in BTC , just on the hope that they would have a "how would you like to process your return? Back to CC, or to a BTC wallet" and it instantly becomes the biggest money laundering operation in history. heh

Add me to the list of people looking for this too

No point in looking at any project promising porn on the blockchain until they solve the kiddie porn issue.

Yeah, it would be painting a HUGE target on whoever the dev team were for a fast trip to virtually any countries prison system.

I think it would be more likely that existing porn outlets would adopt decentralized crypto payment systems which already exist. And for better or worse neer do wells can leverage those resources.

In other news....

I have officially entered the phase of my financial existence which will be called the "store every ounce of value you have as far away from USD and other fiats as possible" phase. Of course looking at the predictions involving BTC havening and when the next real BTC Bear market will hit it's starting to align right with when many are thinking the US Stock market and economy in general is also going to take a body blow of a "correction" (i.e. late this year) which is leading me to be a little more aggressively speculative and itchy on the "pull it to stable coins when you think the bottom is about to fall out" which is always a hard game to time right and now could mean just picking my poison of crypto value loss, or stablecoins pegged to a value losing dollar....

If you are thinking about a stock market crash, being out of equities and into cash isn't a bad position. Gives you lots of dry powder to swoop in and buy the dip in a Black swan situation

Yes, which is what gives me trepidation as right now every instinct I have says to be as far from $USD as humanly possible. But in the event of a market crash (Stock or Crypto) having that dry powder is very useful. So it's probably a necessary evil.

Right now as the wave rides up in Crypto every 5% my portfolio goes up I shave off 1% of that into DAI and back into the AAVE vault. Once Fear and Greed start going ham again that will escalate. That's my current plan to buffer by profit taking on the way up.

I guess you could look at gold if you thought we were going to get a true black swan event, in which stocks and crypto both crash and we get hit with USD inflation at the same time.

Edit: Also, from reddit-

Your daily dose of Crypto
  1. The total market cap has risen 2.7% in the last 24 hours and stood at $2.16 trillion.
  2. The price of BTC breached $49k for the first time since May crash and ETH is testing resistance at $3.3k.
  3. Among the altcoins, AVAX is up by over 25% and 150% in the last 24 hours and 7 days respectively.
  4. The Swedish government has given back a jailed drug dealer over $1.5 million worth of BTC, after it appreciated in value since his arrest and its seizure.
  5. The SEC has drawn a settlement of over $12 million with some of the BitConnect promoters, who were involved in $2 billion Ponzi scam.
  6. Luna Yield, a DeFi protocol on Solana has allegedly executed a rug pull of over $8 million after its website and social media accounts goes offline.
  7. VanEck and ProShares have pulled back their proposals for Ethereum futures ETFs after filing them last week.
  8. Binance has suspended futures contracts trading in Brazil to comply with local regulations. Earlier, similar suspensions came into effect in UK and Australia.
  9. Marvel has launched its first NFT digital comic books on VeVe, which includes the first appearances of Loki and The Fantastic Four.

If the USD crashes you'll have far bigger issues no matter what you dump your money into, unless its pallets of dried food and water

I leave the prepper work to Mrs. Haus Mrs. Haus , although that is a point. If both stock and crypto markets correct hard that would mean even with inflation the dollar would be the "least of three evils", short of us going true old school German levels of hyperinflation. But if that happens it would cause direct inflation of stock and crypto values....

And this doesn't even take housing/real estate into consideration.

The SEC settled BitConnect for a mere 12 million after forcing the BitMEX guys to pay 100 million and refuse to settle LBRY for 10? What the ever living fuck? No wonder rich people renounce their citizenship, JFC

I have a small pile of LBRY but it's small enough I've essentially forgotten it exists. What's worse is I hate YouTube and want to see Odysee take off, but it's service just still isn't that good.
It's odd that Coinbase doesn't support LBRY yet. Is it because Coinbase are SV darlings and won't willingly be complicit in helping an actual free speech platform compete with Youtube or is it for some other reason I wonder?

Coinbase doesn't trade Siacoin Decred or Monero either. They trade what's popular with little to no concern for what are actually interesting projects, apparently. (Internet Computer is tradable lol) I heard a rumor that somebody at Coinbase likes Decred and Cathie Wood has mentioned Decred as something she's looking at in interviews, so I'm keeping mine for now. Will dump my meager LTC first.

LBRY is rank 704 on coinmarketcap.com right now. I would expect them to be doing better considering I'm seeing Odysee being mentioned by non-crypto people nowdays. They used to be in the top 100. A 23 million market cap seems super low. LBRY had a large premine so that may be partly why. (also may be why the SEC is after them, but ETH had a much larger premine)

NFTs are a non-fungible store of value like land.
Honest question. I understand how NFT could correspond to land from a scarcity standpoint, but how do Cryptopunks replicate the productive and commercial value found with owning land? They're limited in number and thus scarce sure, but what do they do? You could compare them to art sure, but how do they correspond to land?

NFT's are legitimately interesting tech but the current iterations value doesn't make much sense to me. It seems like the beanie baby craze, or Pogs or something. Until something is created that utilizes these NFTs to provide genuine value they seem like nothing more than on-chain URLs.
