Yeah it's crystal slots. I picked lotml for my season char path. Kind of regret it since it's making getting season done super slow but on the other hand, the bonuses make it kinda mandatory so I guess it's good i'm getting it knocked out.

Yep, looks like Ill have to suck it up and knock it out too. I used the skill swap coupon last night to get my Lahn back to working order, so I at least have a different class to play and relearn while doing it. I guess it's a good way to pass the time while I wait for crystal preorders to (hopefully) fill.

I did some digging and figured out the costume slot and it's kinda annoying. You need an equipment tailoring coupon and one of the craftable costumes (ex Ahon Kirus, Jester, Calpheon Noble, etc). The costumes will give one of three different crystals when melted down so you gotta look up which costume gives which kind of crystal before you begin to make sure you get the right one.
Anyway, use the coupon on the costume, this allows it to be melted to get the crystal. Next you need a Black Spirits Claw. Put the main body portion of any cash shop costume you want to add the slot to in the Enhance window and use the claw on it, and now you have the crystal slot open and can use the crystal you made by melting the craftable costume. Downside is the crystal slot is only available while youre wearing that specific costume. If you change your characters look around a lot, you'll need to open the slot up on each costume.

Vells isn't a crystal slot (unless this changed?). It's 1 slot for karanda heart or 2 for garmoths. As far as I remember from before the changes to crystals, the only one worth using was movement speed and I don't even know how much of a difference movement speed makes even if you take the biggest comparison of 0 to 5 instead of just 3/4 vs 5.

You are correct. I got them mixed up apparently. The Upper left and right need either 2x garmoth hearts or a karanda heart? The latter only giving 1 crystal slot, compared to 2 for the garmoth heart(when put on awakening weapon).A garmoth heart on OH weapon gives stats, no crystal. I guess I never really looked too deep into it, as I have never gotten them to drop.
Vell's heart is just an alchemy stone, a really good one.

I can appreciate that they're trying to give this game some story, and I like that they are diving into Koreans folklore. But LotML is not the way to do it. Maybe there is stuff lost in translation, and I get immersive parts of going around town and talking to people and doing the processing quests for easing people into the crafting systems etc is nice. But good lord this is everything I hate about Asian MMOs. F spacebar (or spam R in this case).
The biggest selling point of BDO was questing was not its thing. That whole "exclamation point" strategy needs to die, in every MMO (not you secret world, you're special). Quests should be epic, there should be like a few in the game, and they should tell a story concisely without having to read a wall of text and pressing 'next' over and over.
Other then that its been great catching up with my lectures and random YT channels. And god damn this is still the best looking MMO on the market.

Couldn't agree with you more.
One of BDO's biggest appeals was that once you got done with the Mediah questline, you pretty much had the world as your oyster - it was this way for YEARS. Seemingly, they're forcing the "questing" part of the game to be more and more required.

Just do main quests once for contribution/knowledge, then dont bother? Unless you want the 1 billion crystal or something, from doing kam/val etc every time.
Eterntal winter > grind > simplified from fughar(That completes right away up to mediah iirc) for rewards > back to grinding or loot/cash spots.
Like this land of morning light, ill do it once and then never again, since I got the 2 crystal slots I wanted. Plus the knowledge from it.
There are some quest lines I think are required, but its one and done. Mainly things like magnus. Or that inverted garm heart.
There's always been a ton of quest though. Side quest, life skill quests, dailies, etc. Can just ignore most, unless you want to do everything, you care about the 30k quest titles or such.

Dream horse they're giving out has every skill at 100% from the start, so no mandatory skill change coupon levelling of them. Now i'm a bit sad that I started doing a season char to get the coupons since I didn't level the 2 I got in spring season since I don't really need 3 dream horses with all the skills...

1 of each type, then work on t10s now that they're making it easier. The stable once you have all 3 t10s is nice, saw people saying its basically a t11.

Yea, but you could ignore all the quests if you wanted too, they were just there to give ppl something to do. It is a recent thing where the dev team has started making the various msq's mandatory when they all got the cinematic reworks, and they all suck ass. The game engine is just horrible at making cinematics with, imo.
Now you -have- to each MSQ for unlocks, and useful gear / perks. The LoML msq just screams of a dev team the deeply inhales their own farts. I blame the work PA has done on Crimson Desert for all this bs.

I got through about half of the LoML junk yesterday. The first two stories i picked felt way too drawn out but the second two went by pretty quick. Hopefully I can finish it off in one more session this weekend, get the crystal slots, then go back to standing around in town not grinding anywhere.

Dooms are fine, especially if you play with friends/guild, the two seat option is nice. The pegasus is the best imo because of all the shortcutting it opens up. Being able to toss yourself off a mountain and glide down safely is really nice. It is the fastest and can be a problem in towns like you mention, but I usually dont have sprint toggled on when auto riding so it's rarely an issue.
