Most of the cron attempts were with all the freebie crons from the login rewards and coupon codes and stuff (since I got the pen blackstar with the j hammer so didn't burn them all on 2 attempts at that). Couple came from melting a couple random extra outfit boxes I had around. I guess the raw tap was a little tilt but eh, it was one more attempt at the cost of like 600m or whatever the sale price difference ends up between tri and tet so not a huge deal to me.

I mean, the attempt itself isn't "futile" per se but it's 858 million silver PER attempt. At that point, you're already 8.5+ billion deep into the investment. I guess to "recoup" some of your losses? But Tri Bheg's only sell for 1.2-1.4ish billion, so you've barely even recouped a single attempt?
This is exactly why I advocate you don't waste your time with enhancing unless you have crons to burn or get a J's hammer from events (but you should never use a fucking J's hammer on PEN boss attempts). If you need an item, just start saving for it and DEFINITELY don't fucking gamble gear you're wearing.

You're already invested into them roughly the price of just outright buying PEN Bheg's. At that point you should've just kept them around until events slowly gave you more crons.

The newest main story quest is the fucking worst I have ever seen, move 10 feet talk to someone, kill 10 boars once in a while, repeat. Just got to the second crossroads on it and I want to quit the game. Story quest rewards make it worth it or can I just go somewhere and kill shit? Game have dungeon runs or the like?

Did you choose that for your season character? Not a great choice, you should be able to switch it up and go do the balenos to mediah storyline I think.

The boss blitz rewards are solid each week as well as the 1ap/dp for completing it. It's super fucking shitty with unskippable cutscenes, but it really goes quicker than you think. Less time than your typical WoW expansion takes. It's garbage, but if you've completed at least 4+ of the tales, just try to stick it out. If not, I'd definitely try and swap to the Ancient Stone Chamber version of the MSQ or the Eternal Winter.
There are dungeons, yes. 3 of them. And there are several grinding locations which feel similar to a "solo" dungeon. You also have several group, duo, and trio grinding locations and a couple of those feel like dungeons as well.

Yeah I think it took me somewhere around 10 hours to do the whole thing while spam skipping everything I was able to. Didn't track it exactly but it was 2 solid days of playing. Definitely annoying but the rewards are pretty good so it's worth the hassle IMO. Did c1-c5 bamboo legion this morning to get some boss blitz rewards, no top 10 finishes (had a couple top 10 times but they got beat before the end I guess). Can't say I was a huge fan of doing it, especially since c5 took me like 6 tries to finally manage to beat. Got one of the bahnwong crystals tho from one of my rewards.

Mana issues would disappear once you have the Mana Pot, the Tshira grind will get you lots of silver.

Finished the LoML stuff this morning, that was way too painful but so glad I have it done. At no point during the entire process did I give a crap about what was happening. I hope they never do this non-skippable stuff again. I celebrated with another attempt at the PEN blackstar, which of course failed. Ive honestly lost count of the fails at this point but it's up near 50 now I think on a 263 stack.

Went out to sycraia abyssal to try it out. Is there a mob there that removes elixirs or something? Every time I looked at my buff bar my draughts were gone but I know for sure that a few of the times it wasn't due to time running out.

It's insane how many strides PA has made in improving the "new player" experience since I last played in mid 2021. And even that was an insane improvement from when I played in 2018.
Magnus probably isn't quite as huge of a QOL improvement compared to the addition of the Central Market way back when, but it's pretty fucking close.

So was allowing the use of Maids to transfers items from an offline characters inventory. Great feature.

Everyone always says this but never considers the fact that the game is old now and getting older every year, and was pretty old when Kakao left. You don't draw new players in to a 5-8 year old game by making them go through the year 1 experience and tell them they will have to poopsock for 3+ years straight to even come close to competing with the people who have been around for longer.
I gotta figure out how i'm gonna get the 12b silver I need to buy a new tet blackstar or hope someone sells a tri and I can manage to tet it myself so I can use this new j hammer instead of watching it disappear in 2 weeks.

This. While the central market change was nice(and gave you huge extra storage capacity), the ability to access any storage from anywhere and move shit around between was just massive. And its something I use every time I play, multiple times. I remember storage before it. Where I had to use the transport feature to move shit from one area to next, if I didn't want to run there and get it myself. Not to mention using island storage spots you would otherwise ignore.
Hell while the 2 extra crystal slots from loml were nice, the extra 100 storage spaces I can use from the mainland was better for me.
