LOL depending on job, white female ratio of good to bad is even worse. Like Ive met only a handful of good engineers in my field that were females in my 25 yrs. All other were pure garbage relegated to data entry excel bitches. Like could not engineer their way out of a paper bag if their life depended on it. Females need to stick to what they are good at, nursing and other such jobs.

People act like certain professions are dominated by men for reasons other than the fact that women don't make up a significant percentage of the labor pool.
And yes, how you choose to fill that 80% is rather important because it impacts company culture, company values, company performance, and company attractiveness to job seekers. And a company that fills 80% of their staff with SJW hires is probably going to have significantly more destabilizing drama than any frat boy culture due to the fact that SJW culture is a malignant ideological cancer. These people literally wake up everyday and manifest imaginary reasons for why something needs to change because their brainwashed beliefs told them that everything connected to White Men should be abolished.
I've watched a company tear itself apart because it filled its ranks with SJWs. It was a constant competition of who could be more edgy with applying social justice, at the expense of literally everything else important in the company.

These generic numbers are bullshit anyway. As Mist says, they just tuck these people into made up 'producer' roles and shit. I don't give a fuck if 50% of your staff is female because you expanded your marketing, social media or accounting depts. I want you to show that 50% of ALL departments are female. Show me 50% female network admins, core engine developers, building maintenance workers, etc. Force these people to play by their own rules and they won't be around to bother you for long.

Blizzard's real problem is that they pay garbage. When you pay garbage, you end up getting bottom of the barrel employees, or spoiled trust fund kids who don't have to pay their own rent. If, over a long enough timeline, your company becomes filled with only the people dumb enough to stay at a company that pays garbage, you end up with a garbage company.

The problem isn't the pay, it's the fact that working at Blizzard is viewed as "nerd cred" and that always will attract people who care more about that instead of the product they're creating/providing. This is why the lore is all kinds of fucked up, shit gets retconned non-stop, etc. The people wearing the skin suit can't hide any longer because all the people who cared about the product have left the company, one way or another. This is generally an unrecoverable death spiral for a company, and in the long-run either the game shuts down or the revenue model shifts way further into cash shop territory.

The pay is a byproduct of the cred. Kind of like when the Patriots had Tom Brady, they could get top talent to sign for pennies on the dollar, because they knew it would boost their chances of being in a Super Bowl winning team and/or they could boost their own value when they inevitably left the team in free agency or what have you.

That's true, but a lot of idealistic people think of creating games as their "dream job." And the whole gaming industry is pretty exploitative of that fact. Or, the other way around: accounting systems, networking and databases "are not sexy."
And once you're older in the IT industry, you suddenly realize that it's accounting, databases, and networking all the way down, even in modern games. Especially in MMORPG games.

The supply of good workers is shockingly finite, but if your pay scale is built only to attract shit workers, you will end up with shit workers.
