Anime shit? People never really explain what that is. Isn't WoW badly written capeshit?Icy veins has FF guides now. I think the worst part of that game aside from all the anime shit is that there is no class customization. No skill tree or options at all. I’m at an absolute loss as to why it’s gotten so popular lately. Weird.
Anyway think of WoW as having 12 classes with 3 specs each, so 36 ways to play. FF14 has 1 class with 20 specs, so 20 ways to play.
The benefit is that since it's all on one character, you never have to repeat the story (unless you want to with New Game +) and there's multiple ways to level. A lot of gear is shared between some classes too so it's very "alt" friendly.
Also consider how much customisation you practically have in WoW, aren't you just doing what Icy Veins says? I do think this is a past strength of WoW but I can just play Path of Exile if I want that itch scratched (which uses the FF7 and FF10 customisation systems lol).
I have every job levelled up to 50 at least in FF14 after 6 months of playing it a lot. I switched my main from White Mage to Gunbreaker to Paladin over the last two expansions, I was rewarded by having it be super easy to level up the two old jobs to max level since I already put a lot of work in.
In WoW I've played since launch and I haven't touched most classes (Priest main), the alts had their progress wiped in the level squishes or made pointless by free boosts (Warrior, Paladin, Demon Hunter, Druid, Hunter).
