Even if the board removed him prior to the sale he was poised to net like $270 million in compensation. If the board decided to terminate with cause he'd still net something like $240 million in compensation I believe.
The only way he would get basically no compensation would be if the board removed him for failure to adhere to fiduciary duties, and this may be shocking to some of you, not doing much about sexual harassment when you can claim you delegated that shit to HR/legal doesn't rise to that level. The only scenario that he would lose all compensation would basically be if he went to a competitor while still CEO and leaked things like new IP information or pending patents.
Microsoft buying Activision is probably the best thing that could happen to Blizzard because now all the useless positions fielded by Karen blue hairs are now redundant, which means there will be a large RIF coming within a year or two. There will still be Karen blue hairs, but there will be far fewer as the wheat is separated from the chaff.
