I had a feeling that with the way they were taking about Walt getting what he deserved and his self destructive behavior that him dying a miserable cancer death would have been the most fitting. Extremely painful and is literally his own body killing himself. The flash forward at the beginning certainly makes that unlikely, though.

I realize im in the minority but christ...that entire segment with them was just fucking annoying and waaaaay waaaay retarded. Actually, they are easily the worst part of this show. Im not sure how they are not embarressed on set with actual other actors around. I mean....anyone and I do mean anyone can play a retarded high person. They bring absolutely nothing of value to this series. Im sad someone ever wrote them into it. They could have used them to tie things together as they did in some episodes but the stupid rants could be removed.
Come on, that shit was hilarious. Star Trek episode about a pie eating contest? Scotty beaming the food out of his stomach and then accidentally beaming his insides into space is so damn ridiculous, and the stoners thinking it's so deep, you have to not have a soul to not find that funny

I think there's going to be more to it than just a drug raid. Those things happen every day don't generally get a lot of attention by themselves
When it involves a significant criminal figure like Walt has become, law enforcement shouts that shit from the mountaintops with a big, flashing "To Protect and Serve" neon sign sticking out of their collective asshole.

in reality though, hank fucked up bigtime. one for removing the only link between walt and gale from his home and for letting walt know he was on to him before he could compile sufficient evidence for an arrest. hank has not a goddamed bit of usable evidence other than his word that he found that book of poems in walts home. this is why he is going to need pinkman and unfortunately walt will realize this and will need to remove him from the equation. though i really dont think walt could go through with killing jesse. not to save his own skin which is at death's door apparently.
While I don't think it was Hank's intention, the thing he has working for him at this point is that Walt has always shown he's extremely reactive. His next actions are almost guaranteed to be irresponsible, sloppy, and chaotic, which is why it might lead to him taking an unnecessary precaution like taking Jesse out (when, if Walt is being truthful about how much time he has left, doesn't really matter). Tipping Walt off is sure to send him into a tailspin temporarily. What Hank has to hope is that he can catch Walt during this period, and not at the point where Walt feels his back is to the wall and actually starts thinking things through. Judging from the flashforwards, however, it doesn't look like that is going to be the case.

I think his refusal to cook again is going to be part of his problem. The rest of this show is going to be Walt on the run, Walt getting revenge, and Walt dying. I just hope he gets a few more great one-liners for the record books.

Agreed. I think some of his problems are going to come right out of that box that Lydia was telling him he was putting her in. She might serve him and Sklyar up along with her Euro trash connections in exchange for witness protection.

My prediction for the rest of the story

Lydia is going to bring the pain down on Walt, but he is going to escape and Skyler is going to be killed. This forces Hank to do something, put the kids in protection or something, and Walt is going to bail. He eventually gets back to town, mows some people down with the AR, and manages to poison Lydia with the ricin somehow. Jesse will have an opportunity to finish off an already-dying Walt, but in the end will decide to leave, leaving Walt to realize it was all for nothing as he slowly dies somewhere in the desert. Hank will add pressure throughout the season but in the end will not be the one to catch or deal with Walter.

Especially with big figures like Heisenberg. Going after him would be their attempt to bring down all the people he's worked with. Making a huge prediction out of the bust gives his associates time to prepare and is just terrible policework.

It also seems like a DEA raid is too obvious and what they want people to think in order to their them off. Plus, wouldn't the DEA have found the ricin?

I still think it's going to come back to Walt having killed Gus. There was a reason the cartel was always hesitant to do that, and Gus's death is going to come back to haunt him.

They did leave the Gus thing open as to why the cartel didn't kill him in the first place 20 years ago and how he knew he could walk straight towards a sniper and wouldn't get shot.

I also don't see how people know Heisenberg killed Gus.

Can someone remind me how much was known about Gus's evil doings by the time he got blowed up? Was the DEA / Hank onto him at all?

To those saying it appears that Walt's cancer is gone during the flashforwards... if Walt goes into hiding would it not be just as likely he stopped taking chemo/shaving his head? Seems to me he might be just as cancer-ridden but has let his hair and beard grow out to blend in and doesn't give a fuck about chemo if he thinks he's about to go out in a blaze of glory with that machine gun.

If someone inside spills the beans on him, like Lydia, then there wouldn't be the need for a long, drawn out investigation on top of what they already know. Most of the domestic network players are dead. Gus's former Cartel contacts are dead. I don't think the DEA would be terribly interested in drilling down too deep over in Europe. They'd likely be fine with getting a couple of guys over there and calling it a day.

That was decades ago. Same connections to Chile still pull the same weight now? Just guessing, Gus was connected to Pinochet somehow, and the dude is dead, he regime deposed and long gone.

Cartel didn't kill him now because they wanted his blue.
