The X1 rocks. I couldn't find a bare-bones sDrive though, and I ended up going for mileage and comfort with the ct200h:
How do you like the ct200h? I've been looking into something with better gas mileage and a hatchback/wagon. Most reviews still give the A3 the edge but I don't like the mileage.

You will likely get fucked, there is usually a good reason they won't take a trade in and re sell it. Usually its old mid to late nineties cars with no re sell value or ones that appear fine but after they get inspected by their techs, realize its gonna need a shit load of work to bring it back to sellable.
Sort of irrelevant now, but that's notalwaystrue. If you're looking at a BMW dealer they often don't want some non-prestige, volume car sat on their forecourt - it's taking up space that they could use to sell another BMW. Even if it's a perfectly solid car they'll frequently want to get rid of it ASAP.

friend said I could go to her BMW dealership tomorrow and join the wholesalers auction on the trade ins that the dealership doesn't want to keep. I know almost jack shit about cars so this could go very bad.
Hmmm bad idea unless you have someone that will go with you that knows anything about the cars being sold. Honestly buying a used Acura/Lexus is a pretty good bet. You can buy a old ES w/ 150k+ for around 2-4k, sometimes even sold with just one owner. Anything German, fuck that. BMW is a more reliable ride than MBN, I have had MBN mechanics tell me the cars are pieces of shit, built to break. BMW mechanics seem to be a bit more behind their product, but if something breaks on the vehicle, the parts cost will fuck you up the ass without lube.

Not sure why you want a used BMW if you are on a limited budget. You could probably pull just as much ass with a Toyota/Honda or hell even a Hyundai/Ford.

Hey fucknuts I have worked at multiple dealerships for 5.5 years in a couple different regions. Yes, they will price match if needed to keep the business (make the money on the service if not the parts and keep the customer in house for brand loyalty) but that is NOT the first price offered at any of the places I have worked. Please do more research before I say I am talking out of my ass.

As to the other person, 30-40% markup is low for most business. Sales in the car business is 2-15% but pizza is 50-300% depending on where you go and toppings, etc. and people eat that every day but car dealerships are big bad people for trying to make profit. Apple makes more on every Iphone and make 30% cuts just for running the appstore.

Don't get me wrong, I shop around and get good prices for everything I buy. I just don't get mad at people/companies for trying to make a living.
Uhh wrong again Honda salesman. That IS the first price offered. Group 1 is making a push to get into the tire business, as well as every other publicly owned dealership in the country. Do you really want to get into automotive market strategies argument with me? Not sure what east bumblefuck dealership you work for, but I happen to work as an IT director for the South Texas markets for Group 1 Automotive for 9 years now, previously having worked at Reynolds and Reynolds as Client Support for DMS for 4 years, and sold vehicles through college at CARMAX for 2 years. The tire market is a competitive slice of the pie, even dumbasses who pay sticker knows they can go to WalMart or Discount and get cheap ass tires. This is the main reason why dealerships are price matching on first price now. We have even gone as far as setting up customer PCs at our 24 dealerships in South Texas so they can shop and get the lowest internet pricing for the tires they want and we will guarantee price match them.

So far, I love it, and I average 41mpg on city and highway. I think if you're interested in it for mileage, plush commute, and slick looks (more refined than the Veloster, imo), you won't be disappointed.

It isnota speed performance car. Think of a it as a sporty Prius, not a sporty Lexus. That said, sport mode has good throttle response, and steering is tight for drive by wire.

Its seats are amazingly comfortable.

If that thing had the 6 cyl from the new es350 I would go buy one tomorrow morning. Sucks I can't spend my money!!!

Found a nice 08 Mini S with 40k miles for 13.5, think I can get it for 12.5. I think I will pull the trigger on it. Drive it for 2-3 years and save up 20k for down on whatever Audi RS model is available in my price range

I'm not a big fan of electric, but the Tesla S is rad as hell. Way out of my price range but I think what they are doing is good for the market.

Fiat 500 Abarth will outrun and outaccelerate anything you've ever owned.
You're so cute. I've dogged things you can't imagine in this. And the road gets curvy, they lost. It was so awesome watching their break lights light up the night while I downshifted.

WRXs are fun. Not a fan of their looks, though.

Toyoburu needs 50 more horsepower. Still, its bad ass from everything i have read. I saw my first one on the road yesterday, it looked fantastic.

Ohhh come on, in no scenario is 50 more HP a bad thing! It's an awesome car, and im so glad we have a smaller lighter RWD car on the market now. TRD is already developing a supercharger available from dealerships, i think the numbers i saw were an additional 30-35hp/tq. Rumor has it an STI version will appear this year as well.

Put some real tires on it and add the SC, and you have a track monster for 30k.

IT director
DMS for 4 years,
sold vehicles through college at CARMAX for 2 years.
And which part of those handle sales and more importantly parts sales? IT and DMS is all backend and Carmax retail you don't negotiate at all and you certainly don't handle service/parts. Good work telling me about sales though. Really impressed with your credentials and all but that has nothing to do with what is being talked about. I have worked in the Metro Detroit area and now I work in the Metro Charlotte area. Must be bumblefuck backwoods right? Great for your market that they do that but in most other parts of the country, they don't.
