better than predicted
quantumania went on from this point to earn just another $25m while shang-chi earned $48m and cap did $55m. so good shot at earning $200m/$400+m worldwide. which has to be still well below breakeven numbers.
micky17 is only thing predicted to earn more than $13m until snow white comes out the 21st. 1st two weeks of march could earn 50% less than last year, with dune2 and kungfu panda.

There is no way this movie only cost 180 million. The TV show cost at least 150 million and the movie was in reshoots for years. Supposedly it clocked in at 375m. If it only grosses 400m worldwide. That's a huge loss.

Hey, Cap Falcon could have passed The Eternals today to move up to Marvel's 4th worst performer!
But again, the competition just isn't there. Mickey 17 + Novocaine, together, doubled, won't hit Dune 2, and even $10M/$5M/$3M over the next few weekends would put this past Cap 1 / Ant-Man 1 / Thor 1 / Black Widow / possibly challenge Thor 2.
(All those numbers aren't inflation adjusted, of course, adjusting for inflation Falcon will only challenge Black Widow.)

finally saw this last night (the 4K upscaled AI version) and it was ok, better than i honestly expected but still boring with absolutely nothing memorable in the movie. Bizarre choice to reshoot the movie adding Sidewinder, a nothing character that is meaningless. A really, really bad boring main villain too.
The entire movie feels like it keeps asking "was Falcon the wrong choice for Captain America?" and characters keep saying "no! he was the right choice!" but at the end all I felt was the movie confirming he was completely the wrong choice and Bucky should have gotten the shield lol
The 4'5" "ex black widow" was the funniest character, trying to take the movie seriously every time she was in an action scene...

This movie... I dont know man. Its like its trying to buy into realism? Some kind of way? But then it goes off the rails. I mean I get that Falcon... "captain america" has Vibranium Wings or whatever the fuck they are. But how in the name of fucking physics are those wings able to absorb any significant amount of impact from Indiana Hulk?
Also, Im not saying the only interesting part of the movie was with Indiana Hulk Ross. But the rest of the movie was boring as shit and Indiana Hulks fight scene wasnt even all that intriguing. They really could have done more here with the settings they were in and around. Sidewinder, as said above isnt important. But Giancarlo playing him did absolutely no fucking favors. He's too old to be doing all that shit and the transitions between doubles or CGI is overwhelmingly noticeable in some frames.
Sterns is just.. a very weakly implemented character, too. I dont feel like the actor portrays him at all, either. Whatever makeup CGI type shit they got going on doesnt remind me of the comic book character at all. He looks like hes fucking infested with some kind of disease or fungus or something. I mean he just looks fucking gross. I understand they wanted to make him into a "monstrosity" but I just dont agree with the implementation of it.
Lastly, I dont like the way they portrayed Ross / Red Hulk. The political motivations seem.... off. But that might be some liberal shit getting injected, idfk.

At this point, it's extremely unlikely to match Ant-Man 3, and if Ant-Man 3 was profitable, it was only by a rounding error, solely due to UK tax breaks.
It's difficult to imagine that Cap Falcon was cheaper than Ant-Man 3 with the reshoots (cutting Rosa Salazar and Seth Rollins, adding Giancarlo Esposito, removing Sabra's superpowered scenes, etc.)
What should be worrying Disney (and anyone holding Disney stock) is that it's entirely possible Cap Falcon does better than Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four just due to its relative lack of competition and superior name recognition. If only extreme events like Avengers, Spider-Man, and Deadpool movies can top this, the brand will continue to have a rough time.
