The way things are going you all will be eventually forced into it because the auto makers wont be making gas cars anymore. Chrysler already announced the stoppage of their Challengers and Chargers at end of 2023. And those are like good sellers.

if more ppl drive their ev to work, i can see many company parking incidents where ppl fight for the 3 ev spots on the lot
Why do you need to charge your shit at work? Unless youre one of those cheap fuckers trying to get a charge for free? Once that shit starts costing companies moneys they will either start charging for it or just delete them.

Total cost of ownership is already lower than a gas car even with a higher sticker price and reliability should be much better with far fewer moving parts.

The TCO of a new Corolla is a fraction of the cheapest electric cars on the market, while being more reliable than any of them.

As more people get them, more companies will install more chargers since they are basically free with the tax credits.

But... its a fucking corolla. I bet the cost of ownership of a Schwinn 10-speed trumps a Toyota. And like an EV, the Schwinn is a zero carbon emitter.

There it is, people want EVs for status not functionality nor really the environment.
I have never given one shit about the "environment" or being green. Its about the ride. Go drive a Tesla MX or MS and then come back and tell us the "functionality" is the same as your Corolla.
Hint: its not.

ps.. I have in fact driven a Schwinn 10-speed and i can verify first hand that it is zero emissions. Except when I farted.

They are bumping up on CAFE and emissions. Their entire line is V-6 and V-8 which is going to start killing their bottom line really soon. Toyota is moving away from V-6's to turbo 4's. Hell, Audi's full size SUV has a 2.0L 4 cylinder in it. Chevrolet base model 1500 truck has a turbo 4.

2023 Highlander has a 2.4L turbo 4. 265HP and 310 lbs-foot of torque. The V-6 has 295HP and 263 torques. V-6 smoother, but 4 cyl has 47 more torques, weighs less, is more compact, and has better emissions. I'll take more torque.

I guess a lot of you aren't seeing the charging costs in the UK matching and sometimes exceeding petrol.

If EV becomes the norm, there will NOT be cheap charging. The government will get their taxes.

Axiel is also correct about the total costs of EV being magnitudes larger than affordable cars. But, sheep will be sheep.

Rivian is actually creating drive through chargers so it isn’t a pain to charge with a trailer. Obviously very few out there at this point, but someone is doing it at least.
Bunch of the new superchargers are pull-through also.

Yarp, it is inevitable.

Gas tax is how governments fund a large portion of the road work. So, there has been discussions about how to fund roads, outside of gas tax, for some time now. DFW's solution is to sell the roads to Chinese companies to run a toll network.

Currently, EVs are using roads for "free." As soon as enough of the population switches or is forced to drive EV, all the subsidies will disappear and taxes will be implemented. If states find themselves unable to build and upkeep roads with the dwindling gas taxes, they may be forced to add the taxes even sooner.

i mean why tho,

i'm not an ev owner, i'm ev curious, even gonna install a 240v outlet, b/c i can, but other than long roadtrips who really uses charging stations? are there that many ppl who buy an ev and live in an apt? or have a garage and can't wire in a 240v?

if you charge at home and get a few free charges at work, charging stations should only be for ppl who roadtrip
