I think if Trevor or Sypha could have made it they would have, I haven’t re watched them so I am going by impressions of the scenes but it was visually set up back and forth so contrasting that if it was not to “show the point of a true religious man versus a false” then that actually goes into a religious theory that God will use the works of man for his own even without their direct intent.

and yes rule of cool - but him burning in his own holy water is… again… he should not have been able to do / make the holy water as he was not a holy person. The magic was fairly consistent.

but not really to belabor the point.

I am a big castlevania fan, I started with and love CV2, so that there starts me in odd place in the fandom. I also am in general a vampire fan, the lore and stuff… like I loved underworld but I really liked the one were they went back in time to the ensalvement of the lycans, the one most didn’t like of the series lol.

I also love Zelda 2 and play through both games usually yearly.

That's tremendous in its give-no-fucks accuracy. I'll definitely watch that Ivy/Harley show at some point, sounds like something out of time from the era when humor was a bit more, IDK, in your face.

As for Castlevania Nocturne, I got Netflix to watch Terminator Zero, so I'll give this a whirl while I'm at it. Love Rondo/Symphony and can perhaps look beyond anything that's too different. Also my expectations are super low. Expecting more girlboss shenanigans like TZ and for all the white guys to be either useless or evil. Netflix is predictable. Animation in TZ was pretty great though.

Ya, Isaac's character arc was one of the more interesting things during the show's run, especially since it gave a small glimpse into what damned souls to hell. Like that fly dude - it isn't that he was a "pagan" that damned him to hell, but the fact he sold out all his friends to save his own ass during an inquisition that damned him to hell.

Ehh having actually played CoD it was difficult because there was little connection than character names and the dimensional portal thing.

At first the fly dude rustled me… he has seen hell knows hell and sin and evil and satan and still cannot repent or see what damned him…

But after listening to the Orthodox podcast Lord of Spirits and understanding more of how the Orthodox perceive the unrepentant sinners and hell, it completely fits. He has truly turned from God and hardened his heart toward Him - even in knowledge and knowing of the afterlife he still curses and turns from His guidance and path and seeks his own.

The sister vampires were eh, in the games anyone not Dracula was always in pursuit of bringing him back, even the main sister- i think she rezed drac in … Bloodlines?

But nooo it was just a preview of the woke nocturne - the twins seducing alucard seemed like a useless side story to keep him on screen.

Watched episode 1 and some of 2. Recasting kindhearted European noblewoman Annette as an angry, rude Haitian slave was a choice. They could hardly wait to do an entire episode lecturing us about slavery. Changing Maria from a happy spellcasting little girl into an angry, rude teenage activist who wants Revolution Now was also a choice. They should have someone throw paint on the Mona Lisa before lecturing the audience about the climate because we need more politics in our video game show.

Well, Olrox is cool and it's good to see a relatively minor character from the games finally get a chance to shine. He was sorta the "other" major vampire in the games that just sorta got glossed over as just a boss fight, usually.

Would still like to see a Simon Belmont inter-quel series (figured we'd get one after Trevor and before Richter) but I'm guessing next up will be a Symphony adaptation. A Simon series would be a good opportunity to return to basics and give us a simple cut-and-dry retelling of the first 2 games in the series with him battling his way through a demon-infested land to confront Dracula. Would be a way to maybe win back anybody alienated by this season.

I've just often been curious how these people - the people that are social justice warriors of DEI, basically - will get into these positions? More so, why would these people want these positions in the first place? What brought their attention to these types of shows, games, entertainment in these particular genres, etc.? If they got there because they love the IP and wanted to work with it, often like the Game Developers that work at Blizzard - then what causes them to break the mold of what they thought was good in the first place? ... Shit like that just doesnt make logical sense to me. But I'm not one of those people, and for all guesses - they likely arent logical to begin with.

There was "female representation" - OOE was female main, it was a great game.

The "New" Castlevania by IGA: Bloodstained was a female main, it was good.

I dont disagree with you at all, and pedophiles being KOS is how it should be. I'm just so over all of it, these forums are as twisted as politics have become and cant seem to come here without it being in every other thread. However, kids nowadays are a bit smarter and brighter than the thots of yesterday, I'd say it's a lot harder to indoctrinate now than before just due to kids having access to much more information and being influenced by their friends far more than long ago. Unless the parenting is in full on fail mode that shit shouldnt be so easy to occur.

Also i feel when we discuss what happens to children its far smarter to blame fail parenting and the full failure of the adult system as a whole than to blame whats on TV. Most of us 80s kids grew up in a time where social norms were much more varied and acceptable of shit that cant be aired much on TV nowadays. Remember Married with Children? That was my shit but you wont get shows like that as much anymore unless they are in cartoon form.
