Vendor the epics - those cata epics still vendor for a decent amount and a 25 man will net you a ton of them. Can clear 1k gold in some of those instances from vendoring epics, straight coin drops off trash, and cloth. Not bad for the amount of time you put into it, though Dragon Soul is kind of a pain in the ass. That goddamn spine encounter, that shit is the devil.

Plenty of older raids have the rare battle pets in them now too - you get like an Anubisath Idol from AQ40, that will sell for plenty on the AH - though for pure gold purposes, there is more risk as those are just bigger zones (take longer to burn through) and the epics/coin drops are much lower in value than Cata drops.

I am sure there are better or more efficient ways to make gold but taking an hour or two to smash through the cata raids will get you some decent cash in the kitty, that is for sure.

Yep. Lots of gold from bosses plus vendoring gear. Also some boes that sell well on the xmog market. I don't really farm much as my garrison fuels my weekly raiding cost but I used to farm old raids and it was fairly quick money

There's been some boe's in raids before, even as far back as Molten Core. A lot of it has been bop off trash mobs, though.

They change things every expansion, so you never know.


I did Naxx a lot for cash early on in my late 90's to 100. You can mow it down and there's lot of bosses to farm. The trash loot that drops stacks and some of the grey weapons also sell for a few gold.

Be careful trying to farm the battle pets, since they're not always a definite drop. I've gotten 3 Idols from AQ40, but that's using 3 different alts for over a month. It takes a while to get to the boss as well.

BWL and its pets were always easy to farm, but the drop rates aren't common.

Don't even bother with the Burning Crusade ones, the drop rates are absolutely terrible.

Would we have any interest in putting together a heroic HM run? I think we could do fairly well if we have most of the Saturday group mainly poid/noodle, but im not sure if most people are passed needing the loot or what, was wondering why we don't run it.




Post here with ingame name, class spec etc ilvl if you have parses and all that good stuff from your most recent boss encounters, I cant be the only fresh 100, for a week or so, that could still use some upgrades regardless of ilvl.

I THINK noodle and poid are really only free on those days, I don't wanna step on the alt/catch up run, but it would be nice if we could somehow prioritize doing heroic HM, while we got them on and then take our chances with pug tanks in normal.

HM Heroic loot is 670 and BRF normal is 665, so we do need a lot of pieces.

I know for me at least I can't play all that often at night or my wife bitches. A thought I've had is doing one following our saturday run or trying to convince my wife to not bitch at me when I play on saturday night. I think Moord's friday run will convert to Heroic once the group is more geared.

Should also mention the Saturday crew clears normal in 1.5 hours so if the crew came to play I could see us doing the same in heroic

I am happy to run heroic hm. I could use a number of drops there. Friday or Saturday night are it for me, unless we did it instead of BRF for the morning run. I can't really stay much past 2 on Saturdays, as that is when my kids wake from naps and require my attention. And yes, Friday night's normal will eventually become heroic, but we're weeks from that, honestly.

We could easily do 4 or 5/7 H HM in about an hour. Might be a good way to start or end Saturday.

Burnt through LFR tonight. Got 1 upgrade. Got some 650 gloves from Slags but they weren't good enough to replace the conquest gloves I bought a few days ago :/ Sitting at 638 now.

One of the guys I roll with in my guild raids is an amazing pally healer. Pretty much 35k+ all fights. I got some advice so hopefully I can put it into practice. Looking forward to Saturday.

Care to share any interesting tidbits? I am always interested in improving my Pally game. My gear is actually getting decent enough that I need to be comfortable spending more mana as I end fights over 80% while still being top heals. So I guess I can be top...more.

It is actually really interesting to me in general, but at the start of the expansion, I was terrible / didn't like Pally healing. Now I can't go back to another healer and it is a good time. Perhaps it is because once you get it you feel super powerful.

I think on Saturday we should focus on Kromog, but need others thoughts. Ideally we want to kill both Thogar and Kromog, but I think Kromog has better gear and represents the end of a wing.

What do people think of Gruul -> Ore -> Beastlord -> Wrestlers -> Flamebender -> Kromog -> Thogar -> HELL

would be nice if we could start off with heroic HM on Fridays and blend into normal HM where people can get on their alts, the more gear afloat the faster everyone is up to speed for BRF ownage.

I think we gotta work around noodle/poid so we should plan the tougher stuff around their schedule, we can always do normal content with some pug tanks, not even really we got faizy dk to tank if he dosent mind.

As I said last Friday after the normal run, if we lack having at least 1 of the tanks being a guildie/friend that knows the fights inside and out I'm going to pass on the runs. It's not worth the hassle dealing with pug tanks or new people learning the fights when it should be quick clear farm content.

On a completely unrelated note I managed to get myself killed on Hanz/Franz when trying to rank because I'm bad.

Heroic HM for Friday would require considerably more dps than we have had the first couple weeks of normals. For anything past Kargath and Twins, anyway. And at least 650ilvl.

And saying we can do normals with pug tanks is easier said than done. See: last Friday.
