Icy has been updated for 100, at least with Destro Warlocks.

Soy, whats your other spec? Curious how it holds up to affliction. I leveled with Affliction, whenever I try demo, it just pales so badly in comparison.

Has one been updated for lvl100 and maybe not the other?

Stat weights are different between 6.0.2 with a cap of 90 and WoD release with the new lvl cap.
I think they both have been. The big difference is stat priority and gem/enchants. As an assassination rogue Noxxic says multistrike, while IV says mastery. I'm just trying to see if I can get my dps up. I'm at 619 ilvl and barely hold 10-11k it seems and I see others crushing me in heroics.

My other spec is Demonology. I haven't played Affliction since WotLK. I used to love it, but Destro seems to be top DPS now and was the last time I played as well(during Cata). I'm only 96 though.

When you say 'pales in comparison', do you mean DPS or just fun/survivability kind of stuff? I always enjoyed Affliction more than the other specs for solo stuff, but if I'm grouping I want to be doing as much dps as I can.

I always used Noxxic for pvp and Icy-veins for pve. But:

If you look at their stat weights, they both weight master and multistrike very similarly. But one chose mastery over multistrike and vice versa. It's probably too early to tell really and I'll ready to change enchants / gems as encounters are released and classes are "balanced" more. There's no reason believe everything they knew from beta won't change somehow when it gets to live.

I'll probably stick with icy-veins because their forums look less dead than noxxic and they've been reliable in the past.

Well I gave in after not even 12 levels. I used my boost on my BE Warrior and sitting at 90 right now. Like others have mentioned, I really like the fact that they ease you in.

I went Fury so I can quest my way to 100; going to swap to Prot at 100.
I'm leveling as prot. Its nice because with the sudden death talent you only use rage on heroic strike and execute, which procs like fucking mad. I kill shit in like 3-4 GCDs.

"Easy" way to do it yourself is to download simulationcraft, pick a premade template for the target content you plan for (H for heroic, M for mythic etc) and let it sim the stat weights for you. I prefer to use the "light movement" profile rather than the default patchwerk, for a slightly less perfect rotation. Sloppier settings probably give you the most realistic numbers. But anyway, plug those weights into the pawn addon. Now the game will simply tell you if an item is an upgrade or not.

At that point it'll be close enough to accurate that you're probably only quibbling over a percentage or two of dps. Other people will min/max the ideal raid set for a given tier for you anyway.

Rerun every now and then as new versions are put out or hotfixes get made etc.

For trinkets, I think I was using mr robot.

And forget what I said about hunters earlier, it seems that marksman will be significantly the best for nearly any raid boss, even if you spend the entire fight running in a circle.

Both. I can just grab 5-6 mobs, toss Agony + corruption. Sometimes cast unstable on higher hp mobs and then soul burn Haunt (+20% to all dot dmg). Eats through everything. On singles, Agony + corruption + unstable then move on, void will taunt them off before they do much and you can just slug through dense areas like that. AE dmg is kind of shit, but when you can just dot everything it's not too bad. Demo just seemed slow (cast times period, plus higher ones than affliction), felguard couldn't tank like voidwalker can, more dmg, but didn't seem worth it. Granted, I'm probably playing demo wrong.

Man, how could I forget about askmrrobot. I'll give these a shot when I play next / get to 100.

Well if nothing else I can assure you that you're not alone. I generally run assassin and at ilevel 626(?)ish i am pulling similar numbers. subtlety is a hair higher (but I suck at it), combat I will be trying once I loot a second weapon

Noxxic has a tendency to get things wrong at the start and then fix their errors after a while.

Take Blood DK for instance... Icy Veins has a much better guide, while Noxxic is recommending Unholy Blight over Plague Leech and completely ignoring the synergy PL gets from Glyph of Outbreak. That's dumb, especially considering how lackluster DK glyphs are in general. Even the DPTS version of the guide, which picks PL, still doesn't mention Glyph of Outbreak at all.

That said, their Pawn string for spike damage mitigation isn't bad, and I'm using it myself at the moment. I don't like the other one because it completely devalues multistrike.

Noxxic blows, the only time they get it right is when they see somebody else has it correct, and they copy them lol

This has been my experience in heroics so far as well, seems like we can keep mastery up almost 100% for the vast majority of fights as well.

::EDIT:: I am currently at ilvl 627 and am also interested in doing Dungeon achieves for followers (and the meta for the mount) and challenge modes (daily and for Silvers at least). Hit me up w/e I'm on or here to try and coordinate, Xarch in game.

Combat feels like molasses sometimes but I like it for leveling / dungeons that require lots of AE damage. I plan on doing sub or combat after that depending on the encounter. From what I understand all three specs are pretty viable right now.

Does Saturday night work for you? I've got some friends on other servers you guys grouped with this past weekend and Hist who want to do them. We can also maybe try for Leeroy.

It should yea, I have family in town so it may need to be a little later but I don't mind running late. Should hopefully have my ilvl bumped a little more by then as well (finished the apexis crystals this morning for 680 ring will turn in tonight after work, need 3 more heroic pieces to be in all heroic).

Shit man I still have to ding 100 on the DK and gear for to tank them for us. Ill be probably be going all night Friday gearing which should be easy with tank queues, even more so if guild DPS comes. Hist & Bater are PST so late if you are EST like me is probably most likely what its going to be, like at 10pm est or even later.
