Exactly what we did to go in with 580 gear, we also used a lot of the rare loot from the open world 100's you can see with Handy Notes. A lot of its 620 and if its in your bag it counts it. That trial thing before you do heroics gives you a 610 weapon as a reward.

I can't stress this enough: BUILD A BUNKER/WAR MILL BEFORE YOU DO YOUR TRIAL. With a little luck, you will get a 640 epic weapon instead of the base 610 blue. The bunker/war mill not only increases the chance of the rare->epic upgrade by 50%, it also adds 10 extra ilvls to the weapon.
Of course, I got a piece of shit 610 on my DK anyway.

I would like to see us on in force doing Ashrans for easy honor, have some gaps I need to fill like gloves etc. That or cruise around doing world boss level 100 rares etc.

Yeah, first bronze completion gets you a 610 blue weapon. Upgrade boosts it to 630, bunker/war mill (even just rank 1) boosts it further to 640. You probably just got screwed like I did.
We are doing an Ashran tour I think either Friday or Saturday. It depends on MC opening which I still have not seen concrete information on at all.

I'm hoping to be on for this (would love to spam some wins since it supposedly takes 15 minutes and gives 685 honor per, can farm a set in a couple hours) but it may be just a bit too early not sure yet.

One of 4 helm rewards for completing the 40 man LFR version of Molten Core during the WoW's 10th Anniversary [event=514]. Upon completion of the raid the player will be rewarded a helm for their armor type and Core Hound Chain which teaches the mount Core Hound
All helms will also come with +63 Fire Resistance. Long time players will remember resistance stats and how necessary they were to do the original Molten Core at content.
