Looks like Pat White's all-time NCAA QB rushing yard record is going to get broken because they are going to count Denard Robinsons rushing yards he had as a running back taking handoffs from the QB for him as QB rushing yards. Pretty dumb.
Sorry dude

And Jooboo do not argue with Killivumar until he changes the avatar back to creepy Brutus. He's just mad Lville did something Ohio state couldn't do over and over.

I really feel like Oregon was the best team in the country this year.

That call in the Stanford game really screwed them. Not that Stanford probably wouldn't have scored anyway, but it set a bad tone for the rest of the game.

Oregon looks really fast/composed. K State is done - not built to come back. This could get ugly.

Ohio State beat all of 2 teams that are currently in the top 25, #16 Nebraska and #18 Michigan, and both of those teams lost their bowl games. Ohio State was a decent team that benefitted from an extremely weak schedule and extremely weak Big 10. Their non-con was a total joke too. The only BCS conference team they played was the lowly 3-9 Cal(and they only beat them by 1 TD at home)
Next year's schedule is a disgrace, the out of conference games for OSU are horrible, and the Big Ten slate is even more generous than usual:

Aug. 31 vs. Buffalo
Sep. 7 vs. San Diego State
Sep. 14 at California
Sep. 21 vs. Florida A&M
Sep. 28 vs Wisconsin
Oct. 5 at Northwestern
Oct. 19 vs. Iowa
Oct. 26 vs. Penn State
Nov. 2 at Purdue
Nov. 16 at Illinois
Nov. 23 vs. Indiana
Nov. 30 at Michigan

I guess @Michigan might be a game? Wisconsin at home? They will be at the top of the polls by default.

Great drive by the purple pussies.... although that P.I. was insanely idiotic on Oregons part and kept that drive alive. Those QB sneaks seem to take forever to develop for KState.

Is Brutus creepy? I have to find my old avatar!

Think for a moment how utterly retarded this system is. What if Pitt made that FG against ND? We would've probably had Bama vs Florida for the NC. Think about that, and then think about last year, where it was assumed Bama was a better fit for the NC game than Stanford or Ok State.

System is so utterly retarded and gifts NC to the SEC.

Thread is funny. If #2-3 SEC team gets beat down, 5 pages of LOL SEC SO OVERRATED. If #1 B12 team gets beat down, 4 replies, 2 being about ohio state.

It's going to take another conference winning a national title before you don't see SEC teams ranked at the top of preseason polls the following year. There is no doubt that teams that start with a high ranking have an easier road to playing in a national title game than teams that start lower or unranked, but until someone dethrones the #1 conference in a title game, it's going to just keep happening.

There are tons of good teams every year that not only don't play each other, but barely even play any common opponents to try and make an informed decision as to which is the better team. At that point the only baseline of comparison that you have to go off of is how tough their conference is and how well they did in it. And it's just a fact that a 1-loss team from a conference that has won 6 national titles in a row is going to be viewed as a much better team than a 1-loss team from any other conference, and maybe even viewed better than a no loss team from certain conferences.

The playoff system will help to fix this, but so would a rule stating that BCS/playoff conference teams need to schedule other BCS/playoff conference teams in their non-conference. When the only teams that you play outside your conference are low-tier small conference teams, no one learns anything about a team from that. It's just a waste of time, and it won't be necessary once the playoff system is in place, because you won't have to be undefeated to play for a title, only win you conference which your non-con schedule has no bearing on whatsoever.

I look forward to the day that football teams schedule more like basketball teams and aren't afraid of losing a game or two early in the season, they want to plya a tough team for the experience come playoff time.

It is because of their relative rankings outside the conferences, not inside. It is relevant because the (supposed) #2 team in the SEC, #3 overall, got boatraced by the #1 team in the Big East, #21 overall. Barely #2 in the Pac-12, #4 overall, beating the #1 in the Big 12, #5 overall isn't all that surprising. Especially when it came down to the final week of the season for K-State to cement the #1 after getting hammered by a team that plays a very similar game to Oregon. Contrast that to Florida getting hammered by a team that runs an offense that the media and pollsters say won't ever work in the SEC, part of the reason they were ranked so high in the first place.

Stop using meaningless games as the cornerstone of your arguments.

The reason you see this behavior is because the Big 12 fans on this forum are suffering from a severe case of Butthurt.

Pretty much. When the Big 12 has half the conference ranked in the top 10 people can start bitching about its performance. Nothing is going to change though even if ND wins. SEC is ESPN's baby so they will keep hyping it up which will result in bullshit rankings. To make matters worse, with 14 teams the SEC is actually easier because the good teams play each other less (see Georgia's cupcake schedule this year), so we are going to see their rankings unjustly high for the foreseeable future.

Also, did anybody actually think Kstate could win that game? Oregon is the exact kind of team built to beat Kstate. Only way they were winning is if Oregon didn't show or it was really ugly with sloppy play and tons of stupid turnovers (see OU game). The moment Oregon got the 2 point conversion the game was over.
