Just remember, AI doesn't have to be better than you, it has to be better than 80 IQ 3rd world coders and call center employees but without the international contracting issues.
If I never have to talk to another Pajeet from Bangladesh, calling himself John from Texas - Ill be happy af.

No, those people already work cheaper than AI and produce just as shitty work.

The goal is to replace first-world workers.

I used to think I didn't have to be the smartest guy in the room and that I just had to be smarter than the average bear and easy to work with. That's not really the case though, is it?

If ________ was a star wars race or civilization....

America would be most like the Galactic Republic or the Corellians.

- **Galactic Republic (Before the Fall)** – A vast, powerful democracy with immense economic and military influence, often struggling with bureaucracy, corruption, and internal conflicts. Like the U.S., it champions ideals of freedom and democracy but sometimes finds itself at odds with its own actions on the galactic stage.

- **Corellians** – Independent, industrious, and adventurous. Corellia produces some of the best pilots, smugglers, and engineers, much like America's reputation for innovation, entrepreneurship, and individualism. Corellians are known for bending the rules and valuing personal freedom over authority—very much in line with the American spirit.

If America had a dark side analogy, it might be the Galactic Empire—militarily dominant, often interfering in global affairs, and wielding enormous influence—but still believing itself to be the guardian of

Japan would be most like the Chiss Ascendancy or the Imperial Remnant—but with some Mandalorian elements.

  • Chiss Ascendancy (like Grand Admiral Thrawn’s people): A disciplined, isolationist civilization with a deep sense of honor, strategy, and tradition. They’re technologically advanced, value order, and have a rigid but meritocratic hierarchy—similar to Japan’s historical samurai culture and post-Meiji military-industrial structure.
  • Imperial Remnant (or the Empire itself, in some ways): Japan’s wartime period had parallels with the Galactic Empire—focused on centralized control, efficiency, and a highly trained military. The industrial and technological prowess also aligns with Japan’s real-world rapid modernization.
  • Mandalorians (to a lesser extent): If you look at the samurai culture, with its warrior codes (like bushido), the Mandalorians share a similar way of life—loyalty, honor, and a strong martial tradition.

So, depending on the era and perspective, Japan could be a combination of these factions—an advanced, disciplined, honor-bound civilization with deep traditions and cutting-edge technology.

Mexico would probably be closest to the Mandalorians. Here's why:

1. **Deep Warrior Culture** – Like the Mandalorians, Mexico has a history rich with warrior traditions, from the Aztecs and Mayans to revolutionaries like Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata.

2. **Strong Sense of Identity & Honor** – Mexican culture places a huge emphasis on honor, family, and tradition, much like Mandalorians do with their clans and "This is the Way" philosophy.

3. **Resilient & Independent** – Mexico has a long history of resistance against colonization and foreign intervention, mirroring how the Mandalorians constantly resist outside control.

4. **Diverse Yet United** – Mexico is a mix of indigenous, Spanish, and other influences, just as Mandalorians come from different species but unite under one creed.

5. **Love for Iconic Helmets** – Sombreros aren’t beskar, but they are pretty iconic in their own right!

Plus, both cultures are known for their love of spice—whether it's in food or, in Star Wars' case, smuggling it across the galaxy.

Monday and Wednesday I typically work from the local Athletic Club we’re members of. Work out in the morning and then just grab a table in the cafe area and work. Gets me out of the house and helps focus a bit.

Yesterday this crowd started gathering in the little spot where I set up and a guy rolled out a 75” tv, hooked his laptop up and set up to give a presentation. I was like “hung should I leave?” He said nah. He was giving a nutrition presentation to a bunch of Seniors, about healthy diet and “food as medicine.”

Part of his presentation was all ChatGPT and how you can tell it “Give me a recipe that is 700 calories, 30g of protein, using these ingredients, make me a PowerPoint slide with a picture of the meal and preparation instructions.” He showed the old people the results and they went crazy. No way!!! Uh uh!! It was pretty funny. He then showed them it could do an entire meal plan for the week for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I mean, it is pretty cool. Especially for people like that who may need help. Was just interesting that this little exposure to ChatGPT shook them up and astounded them.

Wasnt that long ago, if you really think about it, that LLM's werent all that great. Now they can do shit like that. I made a small program using chatgpt last year (iirc, maybe year before) and it worked great for as simple as it was with my low coding knowledge.

I'm looking forward to seeing what LLM's come about that are trained to use Unreal or Unity. I think we'll have a sort of renaissance in gaming, or just software in general, soon enough. Where your average Joe is just putting his imagination to work instead.

Hah, the idea of “average” Joe making a game scares me. The depths of Steam indie releases is already the Wild West of anime porn, jew murder simulators, and shit in my mouth interactive novels.

Yea. The average person never sees that slop because it has no marketing or word of mouth outside of those circles. So I doubt anything would change on that front. Im looking at it from the angle that a developer can have a proof of concept done for their board in a fraction of the time. So instead of 1-3 years and millions upon millions of dollars spent in that time frame - they can find out if a games concept is marketable way earlier and release the game earlier and hopefully with more content or quality.

But ya, most definitely would be cool if we got some new genres like we got out of Vampire Hunter etc.

If we apply Moore's law to robotics and AI, You middle aged guys are gonna be bootlicking your robot overlords by the time you are my age.
nah, the tier 2 ais are going to be so much better at bootlicking than final gen humans.
We're getting deprecated.

I seriously think that we are a decade away from robotized, AI-powered cops. Wonder what crime levels will be like when you really can put a cop on every street corner. I wish this was a tinfoil hat theory but it's getting real funding through the UN's Unicri organization.

Some choice quotes:
Some priority areas for the Centre include:

  • Building knowledge on the possible malicious use of AI by criminals and terrorist groups, as well as potential counter-measures.
  • Enhancing awareness of the threats of AI-generated or manipulated voice or video content, such as deepfakes.
  • Fostering responsible AI innovation within the law enforcement community.
  • Promoting and supporting the development of policy frameworks for the deployment of facial recognition software.
  • Exploring the development of pilot AI applications in criminal investigations, in particular to combat the rise in online child sexual exploitation and abuse.
  • Enhancing cybersecurity through the use of AI to support the detection and investigation of and protection from cyberattacks
  • Building knowledge on the use of AI in counter-terrorism, in particular in the context of terrorist use of the internet and social media
  • Analysing the possible application of AI in the administration of criminal justice and corrections administration.

Future proofing the criminal justice system

Crime prevention, criminal justice, and in particular law enforcement and national security, are areas where AI and related emerging technologies have the potential to compliment or even greatly enhance traditional techniques. Given the increasingly data-heavy nature of criminal investigations and the evolving and complex nature of criminality, the criminal justice system is a domain that can derive substantial benefit from the potential of new and emerging technologies.

AI has already been used to help law enforcement to identify and locate long-missing children, scan illicit sex ads and disrupt human trafficking rings, flag financial transactions that indicate the possibility of money laundering and protect citizens’ privacy through automating the anonymization of surveillance footage. Such technologies may find application in the courts, where they can help with efficient research on jurisprudence to identify precedents and support legal professionals with case management to ensure a timely delivery of justice.

Masked behind these benefits, however, are a range of social, ethical and legal issues that have yet to be fully explored and analysed. For instance, there are concerns surrounding data collection and violations of the right to privacy in AI development, algorithmic bias and black boxes in decision-making systems, and unforeseen outcomes such as from the autonomous use of force. Of course, there is also the ever-present risk that criminals or terrorist organizations may misuse these technologies. Indeed, with every new technology comes vulnerability to new forms of crime and threats to security. However, with proper understanding and responsible development, the Centre continues to aim to build trust and belief in AI and robotics as agents for positive change.

Soon, wars will be decided by robot dance-offs.

Hmmm... is that really real? If so, welcome to the predecessor to the T-800.... China can just mass produce them, drop them over a combat zone, and everyone's fucked.
