From my 1 hour of experience with the game, yes you can.
it's a 1 second delay. It was instant in BNW

Huge change is that movement cost now is always fully required. No more moving into hills with 1 movement. Armies are slowed down a lot by this, as movement is now lost all the time.

Yes you can, just set it in your options. Its not on by default is all.

Also I'm probably retarded but how the hell do you promote a unit once its earned one?

Thank you, much more enjoyable with this enabled.

So far the game is ok, it feels slow, probably because of what Quineloe said about the movement cost of units.

I fucking love how the building completed is a building I completed a long time ago, never the one that actually just finished. QA ? Nah....

stopping now, this game is poorly polished, slow paced and pretty much not worth playing yet.

I've always thought it was pussy shit that they wouldn't include Hitler as the leader of Germany. Nobody thinks of fucking Bizmark when they think of Germany, it's always Hitler.

Really not understanding the complaints so far, but I haven't had any bugs or crashes yet. The only thing I don't like gameplay wise so far is being unable to move into tiles without having full movement. That does slow shit down a lot.

Yeah, I guess when you start a war that kills 85 million and try to systematically extinguish an entire race of people, you do not get to be in video games. There have been 107 Billion people to ever live and Hitler is in the top 5, by any rational metric, worst humans ever. They would not even be able to sell the game in Germany if Hitler were in it.

It's getting a lot of praise everywhere else. Enough that I'll probably pick it up on sale even before the second expansion :p It helps that most of the positive reviews are coming from longer playtimes than the negative reviews.

You bring up a good point. Why can't we give Jew ratings in the normal forums?

No argument, but then why does Ghengis Khan get to be in Civ? Responsible for 40 million deaths at a time when the world had a lot less people, where does he rank on that "worst humans ever" list? He just has the benefit of time, Hitler is too close.

I'm pretty sure Hitler isn't in simply because him being in would get the game banned in some countries.

Games like HOI4 sell in Germany, you just can't put in Nazi symbols and I think SS? You'd know better.

Hitler himself minus the regalia is left out because it's Hitler and people are pussies, not due to legalities.

Well, it's not just time, but conquest was generally more common/accepted then, too.

I just love how they still can't have the AI just be happy with where its units are. No, every turn the AI must use all movement points on every unit, even if that means every city state is shuffling its five units around for no reason other than to make turns take longer. Ugh.

Dan Carlin has predicted (likely correct) that 500 or 1000 years from now, Hitler will be looked upon in a more forgiving light. His atrocities will be balanced with his accomplishments and he will get an equal share of praise and blame... but for now, there are still people alive that survived his death-camps and you have millions of living relatives of people extinguished from this life in some of the most brutal ways possible. The shame of Germany is so great, that there are laws punishable by up to 3 years in prison for the use of Nazi symbols, Hitler, and gestures such as "Heil Hitler". This shit is no joke.

Ghengis Khan is studied with amazement that he was able to take over most of the known world with nomadic horse riders. Oh yeah, and he wiped out a 1/3 of the worlds population doing it... yeah that is pretty bad too... but none of us personally know anyone effected by his conquest. So, who cares.

The passage of time and removing emotion, anger, and fervor out of studying history has a profound effect on how we view these people that shaped the world.

I agree there. I played a recent game of Civ5 and I Napoleon came at me with about 10 units (3 trebuchets, 3 archer types, and 3-4 melee) and all I had was my city defense, two archers, and a sworsdman. I should have been toast but every time they'd move around a bunch and it was easy to pick them off. They never even damaged my city. If they had simple attacked every chance they could he would have taken the city.

Saw some of that happening in my Civ6 game but not quite as bad. However, what was bad was after repelling the Romans they hung out in the water (land units, not ships) and let me snipe at them with my bowman until they all died. It's like, wtf, why are you staying there taking fire?

Are there any drawbacks to having a lot of cities? In Civ5, I really enjoyed having to balance city growth with happiness and there was a true choice to be made whether to go wide or tall. In Civ6, I'm just not seeing that. I don't see anywhere there being penalties for more cities but I could easily be missing something.

To me, it seems like ICS should be back? Have your main city be high growth and pump out settlers.
