Skip Persona, it's daily JP highschool stuff plus the pokemon battles. I'd recommend playing Metaphor ReFantasio, or this game.

Turning off DLAA on the Steam Deck? That should be native resolution without any upscaling vs. DLSS which would use upscaling.
Unless the Deck handles things differently.

that one died almost instantly for me
i did the arena with maelle so i got her weapon that starts her in virtuous stance with the 50% increased first attack damage so her opener does like 6k+, i think im pretty overleveled though because i also beat that boss in 2 rounds i think as well before he could even do his mechanic

You just had DLSS and DLAA ass backwards. DLSS is rendering at a lower resolution and upscaling, whereas DLAA is just antialiasing. DLSS should improve performance while DLAA improves image quality.
The deck is an AMD GPU, so you're not even using either of those anyway, you'd be using FSR and whatever the AMD equivalent of DLAA (if they have one) is.

That's not the way it works in this game is the point. It defaults to DLAA and looks like smeary dogshit, so I don't know if they have stuff labeled wrong or what, but the important part is turn off DLAA to fix your visuals

Just started Act III.
I think my only gripe is that I wish there was some better form of tracking on the map for completions sake. I'm literally having to write shit down on digital paper in the year 2025 to remember if I saw something in an area but couldn't get to it yet or if there was a big boss man in an area that is meant for later etc. Feel like it's the biggest miss in an otherwise near flawless game.
Also the music is fucking so good and varied.

This is one of those new games where it's like the gaming community is trying to hype it up but I just can't give a shit. Nothing about it looks like the sort of thing I'd be into, and there has just been so many games like this in recent years as well. I mean hey if you're into it and you like it enjoy, don't let me stop you lol, but this has been the only thing people seem to be talking about right now besides Switch 2 pre-ordering. That just makes me realize how quickly everyone has moved on from all the other games all the sites and journalists have been trying to hype up lately. It really feels like we're just getting the same sort of games with a push for the "consume latest product, get excited about next product" mentality.

About Act III
I'm not sure if I'm IN Act III or not, I thought I ended Act II by killing the Dualisti(?) boss at the borken bridge in the Forgotten Battlefield. I just haven't seen anything after that say "Act III". I'm way up in the snowy region atm having a blast.

Of course, that is how journo's / influencers stay relevant, gotta generate interest. In regards to this game, I think the hype is appropriate. I wouldn't call it a "masterpiece", but it has definitely been much better in every way than I hoped. So, I'm happy with it.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure it out too. I don't know if maybe this is a story game or something? I've never really been into those though.
I can't really figure out what the appeal is. I don't think it looks bad though. There's been tons of games where it's seemed obvious to me, like Diablo 4 or Starfield where everyone was sucking each other's dicks about it, I said it looked like shit, and there was massive backlash until 6 months later and they're all "oh yeah, this actually was shit."
This one looks like it's actually probably a really good game, but it also seems niche. And so the widespread acclaim for it by everyone is confusing, unless I'm just wrong about the niche and it actually does have wider appeal?

I have it for PS5 Pro, I can not tell a difference in frame rate between Quality and Performance modes. I love how it looks on the 85" TV (and my video card is ass), so I went with that version. I can't believe how amazing the world looks. That first zone with the fish and coral, the lighting is crazy.
