He's a vengeful enough man, he just might do it.

On the other hand, if he actually did do that, then they would win the game. Quite the predicament.
Not so sure vs Michigan that would work...this isnt Northern Illinois to squeek past for a win. Michigan has the 2nd best defense in D1.....4th vs the run.....strength on strength if you will.

I think they beatdown Ohio State

Les Miles days may be numbered. The TAF had a conference call today to discuss it. They feel like they are being pushed in that direction since Miles talked to the AD last week about possibly wanting to retire at the end of 2016. Something the AD and TAF are not happy about if they don't have a great year next year. Recruiting suffers etc...

I also learned that the buyout of Miles is scaled depending on how fast he goes on to coach somewhere else. To get his 100% buyout he has to be not coaching for the entire 8 years the payoff is schedule to take. Les probably shouldn't have even brought it up at this point.

TAF, AD, and some of the board of supervisors are meeting today to discuss it. I got the feeling from what dad said is they felt like they are getting pushed into making a decision.

Miles has called a meeting of the players tomorrow to speak to them concerning his future.

So brotatos, I got bored and took the DII bracket and filled it out just going down the line from the Coaches poll to show what it would look like if we had their system...yea this would totally suck and no way they could make money off of this........ =/

That would be fun, but we honestly don't need THAT many teams in a playoff. 8 team would be perfect. 5 champions from the 5 power conferences, 3 wildcards

Basically you'd be looking at something like

1. Clemson
8. Ohio St

4. Michigan St
5. Stanford

3. Oklahoma
6. Notre Dame

2. Alabama
7. Baylor

(conference champs get the #1-5 seeds, wildcards get the 6, 7, 8

No way, why this is awesome is because you get those cinderella teams just like basketball.

Nobody could bitch really then, and they could fill fluff bowls with the leftovers or just incorporate them into this system.

Imagine Houston, Temple or Navy making a bigtime run, shit would be epic.

Maybe, but it also would get shit ratings and views if history is any indicator. Everyone talks about wanting the Cinderella story but no one wants to actually watch Alabama beat Temple 85 - 0.

I'd have to go back and find the numbers but a couple of years ago this came up during a college baseball or basketball run on sports talk and they looked at the viewer ratings.

That line of argument is why this system is beyond fucked. We cant have nice things because there might be a low tv rating for a game or two? Fuck that noise.

And this is murica, they'd find a way to make shit tons of money on it if the basketball playoff is any indication.

Calling it now...LSU is going to regret this...Coach change is hard and even more so when the pricetag is 15mill in a state going bankrupt.

Let me preface this by saying I don't give a fuck about Ohio at all but the current college system is a corrupt joke. I listen to the voters on the radio out here and its completely feels data they vote on for the rankings. You have Ohio who just lost to a rank 6 team and now is pretty much out while you have Alabama that lost to a rank 18 team and continues to climb the rankings with the same record. They really need more teams in the playoffs and to destroy this bullshit ranking system.

I'm willing to bet the state pays $0 of that. Most big time schools pay 100% from athletic revenue. I'm too lazy to do the leg work but I can't see LSU being any different than Alabama.

TAF has the $15 mil and it's payable over 8 years and scales on how fast he winds up coaching somewhere else. Also the team is profitable enough they donate $10 million per year to the general scholarship fund at LSU.

There's more than meets the eye going on. There's some bad blood between Miles and the AD and apparently it goes back to contract of Chavis which the AD wanted him to sign and so forth and led to the timing deal where Chavis is now sueing LSU and A&M.

Let's not forget this is the AD that was at the center of the Duke Lacrosse scandal.

He gets no more than a professor salary from LSU. The rest comes from the TAF (who also owns a majority of Tiger stadium now and rents it to LSU at $1/year) which said in the conference call Sunday that they had the money to pay it out. Miles was the one who brought up retiring at the end of 2016 to the AD and then it went downhill from there.

While I'm sure itcouldhappen it probably wouldn't very often in football. It is hard to just have one player get in the zone and drain 3's at an absurd rate like it is in basketball.

Ohio State lost it's only game of meaning so far this season. Alabama's strength of schedule ranks in the top 10 in every resource I can find and Ohio State's ranks outside of the top 60. Here's the Sargarin ratings:

Alabama has played 8 teams in Sagarin's top 30 and went 7-1. Ohio State has played one team in the top 30 and lost. It blows my fucking mind that there are idiots like you who would run to a message board and say dumb shit like this.

I think their rebuttal is the following:

The ranking system itself weights the SEC and the opponents of Alabama higher than the other conferences...aka every SEC team gets a bump for being in the SEC.

My rebuttal is Fuck Yall cya in the playoffs!.
