Probably as simple as a line of code that references a database with players who rejected the offer. If first_name and last_name match optout_name, then error: cannot rename player this.

Of course, you just get around it by misspelling the name or adding a hyphen/character.

Imagine they will be putting a bit more effort into it as it will be to protect themselves from lawsuits.

Apparently 5,000 players accepted the deal within the first 12 hours.

85 players x 138 schools would be 11,730. So almost halfway there in the first 12 hours. The high profile guys might hold out for more money, but the majority of players will have their real names.

I figured anyone who doesn't have NFL aspirations would take the money and run.

A lot, if not all, of the high profile guys already have deals. It’s why Quinn Ewers, a way-too-early Heisman candidate next year, had a custom announcement ready to go about being in the game. EA wants the big names seemingly jumping in so everybody else follows suit.

This released this week (Early Access on Monday...official release tomorrow). I'm enjoying it...there are a few bugs and some mistakes, but most of the complaints I've seen are nitpicking. I have heard from people that there are way too many upsets in Dynasty and that the rankings don't make sense. I haven't seen that in mine...there might be a correlation between that issue presenting and the Dynasty being online. My offline Dynasty seems realistic. I did change all the conferences to how I liked them (moved a bunch of teams back to the PAC12 and BIG12, then placed teams to make more sense geographically...I'm also going to be doing a relegation system), so not sure if that helped somehow.

The game is harder than you'll expect. From what I understand, All-American is closer to All-Madden with Heisman being more difficult than All-Madden. I play on AA with some adjusted sliders. Starting at Coastal Carolina...going to get them promoted to the ACC, then I'll probably take a job with Iowa, Ole Miss, or Texas when the opportunity presents itself. Sometimes streaming on Twitch and thinking about throwing the videos up on YouTube if I get some time to edit or can find someone to do it for cheap.

If you like College Football and want to play a next-gen version, this is great. If you expect it to have everything that NCAA 13 or 14 did, you might be a little disappointed.

I'm at bowl week with #23 UNLV and middle of my second season as RB for Army. Finally made it to starter 2 games ago. Didn't play a single snap my first season on the underdog path in Road to Glory.

I don't watch CFB, but I love the mechanisms of the game. Coaching Carousel, the rapid roster turnover, etc.

If you liked the original games, there's really nothing not to like here. NCAA 13 or 14 were the best, this is already very close and very good.

WTB PC port. But i understand why EA Legal would advise against it for now with mods being a guarantee on PC and NIL still being the wild west

I'd even settle for cloud streaming. It's not there either. Had some slim hope it might, as they do have some titles streaming like NHL24, but CFB is not.

I'm in like year 7 with my OU offline dynasty... finally made the playoff and played Cincy in the semis and mighty Tulane in the natty. Lol. There is definitely some sim jank. It's been so long since we had NCAA that I can look past it for the most part. I wonder if they can patch it? I doubt it.

I'm ok with that by Year 7...if it was happening Year 1, then it'd be an issue. I'd actually be more annoyed if there wasn't a change in some of the top teams. I do realize it's rare in real life...the old sim engine used to always have Army/Navy start dominating after a few years, too. Making a sim engine where the top teams stay the top teams, yet also allowing for upsets like when App State beat Michigan...is really difficult, lol.

I'm more trying to get the difficulty right where I'm being challenged, but don't feel cheated, which is another impossible task. Especially since I'll keep getting better as a player...at the same time I'm improving my team through recruiting. I didn't realize how intelligent the AI was, though...apparently you need to disguise your defense with shells and it actually pays attention to your snap counts, which is why my O-Line was getting blown apart when I wasn't changing it up. I got beat 42-14 by Rutgers in Week 4 and blew out FAU 58-35 in Week 6...otherwise, all of my games have been close.

Still having fun...may need to get a simulation dynasty started soon, though. That's usually where I get really sucked in and end up wondering how it got to be 4am all of a sudden.

With the exception to the NFL 2k series, NCAA has been my favorite football.

Despite being very similar to Madden, NCAA usually plays much better than Madden.

This year they knocked presentation out of the park, compared to where it started. The addition to names, bands, music, sidelines etc...is all amazing. The defense is still horrible. The computer AI is like Jesus, and the use defense is hamstrung by terrible pursuit angles and brain dead secondary.

Game is much harder than I remember... Gotta git gud I guess. Having fun, but already finding myself simming a bigger chunk of seasons/games than I'd thought I would. Memories flooding back of me as a 20 year old doing the exact same shit haha.
