So what is the consensus on Convergence and Secret War? Both terrible? I saw them for download on IPT and thought I might give them a chance and see if any books that come out of them are worth following in the future.

I haven't been paying attention. Shit gets absurdly crossover now. I get maybe 10% of the story sticking to comics I liked before the event began, so fuck it. I'll read my stories after the event is over.

Consensus on Convergence was pretty meh, ended with a wimper. DC books now though I've heard a lot of vaguely great things about, people seem to like what's going on.

Secret Wars is still in progress, some books are hit and miss but the first month or so were pretty great IMO with some bright spots here and there as the subsequent tie-in series have come out. Between Old Man Logan, Armor Wars and Weirdworld there's something for damn near everyone. I have a stack of books from last week I've yet to dig through.

I'm really looking forward to where some of these titles go, Infinity Gauntlet, Old Man Logan and Age of Apocalypse in particular (the last one hasn't had it's #1 released yet). Even Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows was good, and I don't really read the spider-books, lol.

Convergence has a terrible main book but the majority of the tie-ins are really solid from what I hear. Braniac sucks.

Convergence is DC frantically trying to backpedal on all of their bad ideas from the last decade, Secret Wars is Marvel having a lot of fun basically making a patchwork universe out of "What If?"s before their universe reboot takes hold.

I have been reading some of the secret wars stuff and have enjoyed most of what i have seen so far. the only things i don't like about it have been minor/superficial for the most part.. does battleworld really need so many versions of Manhattan? I am not a huge fan of tony stark(or his over-used alcoholism) and he seems to be the most prominent character so far. also not a huge spider-verse fan..

Some of the continuity has been confusing as a casual reader. but still having fun reading most of it so far.

old man Logan is easily my favorite, and xmen 92', but that could have been manga porn of beast fisting xavier and if it was called x-men 92 i would still read/enjoy it. Also enjoying Dr strange and anything to do with punisher.

i haven't picked up my crate in 3 weeks and i've just come back from vacation, guess i'll mass catch up on secret wars in 2 weeks. old man logan will probably be my fav one, even tho he's supposed to be dead for months (as in i didn't expect to see any version of wolverine, but if it's old man logan, i'll take it).

Okay so, I want to get into The Flash. I've never read any of his stuff but the show got me pretty into it and after reading up on his history I really liked what I read. My question is where should I start or what would you guys recommend to me?

I haven't ever been much of a fan so I'm interested in those suggestions too, but FYI Flash #41 that came out last week I've been told is decent for new and returning readers. Most of the post-Convergence books have been set up that way really.
