i have a bunch of firehd's, i really like the firemax

it's metal so it feels like a real tablet and not a plastic toy

if you have an old tablet you don't want or even an old alex, you can slap that on for 20% off and if you wait for a sale (like thxgiving, etc)

you can come off w/ big discounts

then you just follow a guide and download a few apk to get google play store on there
Please point me to where you trade it in on Amazon. You are the second person to let me know I could trade it in ( after I already bought my current tablet). The first person was my brother , who knew I was looking for a tablet and he told me when I outright asked him what he did with his old tablet. Not that it bothers me but he is a fucking asshole.

you see where it says "trade in for 20%"

just click there and amazon will go thru your entire purchase history and be like "ok this alexa qualifies, this router (no joke i traded in a router)" and if you don't have anything in your history then you type in a model number. then you'll say "yea it's in ok condition, i'll send it to you and you can check it out, and if you don't give me enough credit back, send it back to me OR i'll just accept whatever you give me, just trade it in" and they'll immediately give you a 20% off, then you box it up and print the amazon label and send it off

usually they also give you store credit for a $ amount of the trade in too

Three of these in my house now. They all seem to love em. Moms and kids.

So as to not continue hijacking the Monster Hunter thread where Zindan Zindan and Janx Janx were helping me, will jump over here where it seems more appropriate...

Been trying to get my new computer build up and running:
Everything seemed to work fine as far as windows, apps, 3DMark bench, HWInfo, etc. Temps are low 40s at idle on both CPU and GPU. I initially installed Win 11 and got basic things installed like Steam. BIOS settings were mostly untouched with the exception of initially turning on EXPO for the RAM.

Went to benchmark Monster Hunter and got it to complete the benchmark once. Every attempt to run the bench after that it has crashed. Tried playing the game and constant crashes. Using the AMD Overlay while playing GPU/CPU temps, power, clock speed, etc all seem perfectly normal. Nothing spikes or is oscillating wildly.

I tested the main memory with memtest86 (and now have various versions of TM5, memtest64, etc that I have NOT run exhaustively), tested the GPU memory with memtest vulkan. With vulkan I could actually create GPU memory errors by undervolting or messing with memory clock in Adrenaline. Leaving it stock passes with 0 errors though.

Last night I reformatted and installed Windows 10 and did nothing but GPU driver + Steam + Monster Hunter and it once again crashed after about 10 seconds.

Zindan Zindan suggested trying to FFIV benchmark so I grabbed that this morning and it also crashes almost immediately. Oh, both this and MH I've tried at the lowest of low settings as well as Ultra, in between. FSR Off/On. Any combination I could think of.

He also suggested trying to Khazan demo. Just finished playing it for about 45 minutes with no crashes at all. Worked perfectly with Ultra settings, everything turned on I could find. Willing to try any other demo as well or post whatever settings. Very odd that some things just crash. I tried DX11 vs. DX12 in Khazan with no change. I have NOT tried that on the FFIV bench though.

Today I have two more dual channel RAM kits coming in that I'm going to swap out. I'm also going to grab my 3080 from another computer and put in in here to see if that changes anything. May do a fresh install of Windows for that also.

Any ideas? My first AMD build so feels like I'm missing something...

Swapping out the vid card would be a good idea to see if it follows the vid card. Getting something like the Cinebench benchmark to stress the CPU may be good too. Would help narrow down if its a video or cpu related issue.

Well, good news / bad news. Ran the bench 3 times with the 3080 and never had a hiccup.

They're both 3x 8 pin so I'm going to put the 9070 XT in my other 12700k machine and see if it crashes there as well (lol nevermind card is too big for my old Fractal haha). The AMD Reddit has a lot of people complaining (nothing surprising there) but suggestions such as locking PCIE to Gen4 to see if that resolves.

Put the 9070 XT back in and locked PCIEx16 to Gen4. Also did a -400 MHz offset to the clock and started re-running the MH:Wilds Benchmark. At Ultra with everything turned on it passes just fine. Tried a -200 MHz offset and it crashes. Now running at -300 MHz.

If this turns out to be b/c I have a turd of a binned 9070 XT it is going to tick me off and I'll be going back to Powercolor for an RMA. Losing 300 MHz should not be acceptable to get stable performance.

May actually post on Reddit (god help me) and see if anyone else can offer comments for troubleshooting.

-250 MHz works fine... Core clock still hits 3100 MHz and TBP is only 250W, maybe not so bad after all? lol

list your psu, you might have old /bad single/multi rail psu w/ insufficient power when you crash, do you crash to desktop/bsod or just turn off like you lost power from the outlet?

post a screenshot of gpuz too, maybe your volts are under

It's a brand-new Corsair RM1000x updated model.

I've got everything stable at the moment and have been running different variations of GPU settings to get it to pass MH and FFXIV benchmark. I'm not super concerned with max OC'ing here or anything, just want to make sure the card is "okay." Everyone else on the internet is able to post wildly different settings and I can't even run the thing at stock.

Gotta run and get kids.

Well, fuck me, it isn't stable yet. Did 1 hunt in MH and it was fine. Moved on to the next one and crashed mid fight.

Just as a small update. Powercolor supporr has been very helpful and responsive. Unfortunately I have been in Vegas all week and not able to actually do anything they recommend or send them diagnostic files. Will be back home this weekend and hear more on Monday. He did kind of admit that since the card isn’t behaving correctly at stock he would likely recommend an RMA, but wanted the crash report that Adrenaline generates.
