The biggest one for me would be Band of Brothers.

I tried a few times but the actors might as well be chinese. They all look the same thanks to the war setting and uniforms and shit and 30 mins in I'm already annoyed because I have no clue who is who.
I had a hard time at first as well, but if you stick with it they all become pretty unique.

Apparently after reading this thread Twin Peaks and Six Feet Under should be on my list.

Does The Walking Dead count or is it too new/still running/not good enough?

I tried Dr. Who. Really I did but Jesus that shit was lame. I got to the part where the "original" Dr from the the recent reboot switched from "goofie" Dr to "Snarky" Dr. I loved shows like Star Trek TNG, Stargate, new BSG, etc., but not the Dr I guess.

Speaking of which, I need to finish ST

S9. Worf finally showed up and its starting to get decent.

I wouldn't say that. I'm not sure it really belongs under "critically acclaimed", it was more of a curiosity. It was unique, and stylistic, and reasonably entertaining until your enjoyment of the style wears off. Watch enough so that you get the jokes when you watch the Psych episode riffing on it, should be about 6 episodes. That's enough to say you've "watched" Twin Peaks.

You should give it another chance. To me Band of Brothers is literally the best thing ever made for television.

I'm missing a ton of shows that I really should have watched/be watching now, but most of them have already been mentioned.

Not sure if this is considered critically acclaimed or not, but I just started watching Farscape (finished Season 1) because I had always heard I should watch it, and I'm glad I did. Even the fucking muppet (Rigel XVI) is a pretty good character. And while I always liked Claudia Black's voice, watching her in person is possibly leading to me needing to aychamo her (the stalking part, not the flashing my butthole part). She's not what I'd consider super hot, but Goddamn I want to marry her. And then probably divorce her, but still!

The Walking Dead is an atrocious TV show. I have no idea why it's so popular.

So I'm maybe a season and a half into Six Feet Under and having troubles getting motivation to keep going. Those of you that are fans, will things improve a lot? Ireallywant to keep going because people talk so highly about how the show ends, but despite the acting being great, it feels kind of dated and hokey to me. Does this aspect of it get any better? I realize it's an older show.

There are ups and downs with 6 Feet Under. I think it is great and minus a couple of slow plotlines it only gets better as it goes along.

I'm in bad shape, so far there are only like 7 shows you guys have named that I DID watch (red dwarf, Dr Who, BSG, farscape, Seinfeld, Friends, and DS9). Funny thing is though, I have no desire to watch any of the ones I missed.

If this thread has turned into a thread of suggestions that everyone should go back and watch, i'm going to throw The Prisoner onto the list. it's only 17 episodes, so not a great demand on your time.

Oh snap, there was miniseries remake in 2009. I gotta check that out.

Going to try to get back into DS9 starting tonight. I started last year and got almost half through season 2, but stopped. I know I'm close to where it really starts getting good, so gonna push through I think.

Keep in mind I refuse to pay for cable and I download most of the shows I do watch unless they are on Netflix. The following just never seemed that appealing to me but I would really like to see Rome.

The Shield
Sopranos
ER
Breaking Bad
Walking Dead
Rome
The Wire
Dexter

I don't agree. I thought the first couple seasons were the best and it got downright shitty towards the end with all the characters getting more and more far out. Everybody loved the finale, but it was pretty over the top the last couple seasons IMO.

On season 6 of The Sopranos, it's decent but definitely not worthy to be mentioned in same breath as The Wire or Breaking Bad.

It suffers from being too episodic, the majority of episodes have a storyline that is wrapped up by the end and there's no real main story arc to speak of.

The Wire (Impossible to find a decent quality DL for this show)
Boardwalk Empire (watched S1.. found it really boring once i started S2)
Spartacus (fell asleep during Episode 1, never looked back regardless of people telling me it gets so much better.. perhaps i should DL it)
Mad Men (Just didn't find the concept interesting at all)
Doctor Who (any episode)

I should go back and give at least the wire & spartacus a shot

Season 1 of Heroes was some good stuff. Then it shit the bed when the showrunner couldn't figure out what made season 1 so popular. I'd highly suggest season 1. The rest? Not so much, which is weird, cause most shows take a season or two to get rolling. Heroes is the opposite.

Not sure where you've tried, but you have to remember that it is not in widescreen at all, which limits your options. I'm pretty sure I got mine from BTN. Watched the first season so far and quality was excellent once I got used to the fact that it was going to have black bars on the side the whole time. Farscape is the same.

How the fuck have you avoided Seinfeld?
I have never seen a full Seinfeld episode from start to finish. I have seen lots of bit parts when I would turn the channel to it while it was on, and clips people have posted over the years. Every time I watch some of it I always end up asking myself the same question. How the fuck does anyone find Jerry Seinfeld funny? Nothing against the guy personally he might be the coolest guy on the planet for all I know, but god damn he is one unfunny fucker. Same with the supporting cast on that show. Kramer would burst/stumble into Jerry's apartment and people would start laughing. No idea how anyone found that more then mildly amusing more then once.

I always figured it was like the people who loved watching Gallagher smash fruit and shit with his big hammer. To each his own. I damn sure don't get it.
