I would put that as my phone wallpaper but I think it would scare the crap out of my daughter.

That's hilarious.
My 5 year old daughter walks up and nonchalantly asks "Why is that moose eating a person?"

Now, thinking its a moose, fine, shes a kid, but how she immediately arrived at the conclusion that it was eating a person and not idk red jelly or ketchup or something.. i have no idea.

shes gonna be a great PvPer one day.

Ref: Europeans and Pre-purchase

FORUM POSTER QUESTION:
Since crowdfunding will most likely host an option to 'pre-purchase' the game, do you think we Europeans should consider it? What if we 'pre-purchase' the game via crowdfunding and the European publisher makes the game F2P+P2W or anything different from your pricing model?

GordonWalton RESPONSE:
Anyone who pre-purchases the will be able to play on our servers regardless of territory (i.e we'll always take care our customers). We think it unlikely that Europe would use a different business model than in North America, but we simply can't guarantee it at this point. As we've said, we want to do all the English-speaking territories at a minimum, and would like to do the rest of Europe also, but that may not be something we can pull off. What we will promise is that we will be transparent about what we are doing in other territories as soon as we can be!

Tuco, did people at work see you looking at two fawn centaurs making out? Did you really linger on the image? Lol

With the NSFW tag I was expecting it to be something pretty terrible. That was really tame. I mean, I was still able to FAP to it, but I had to work for it.

Couple dev quotes and notes

"next information drops we'll be talking more about the additional technical challenges we've taken on"

Some members of the dev team play Project 1999, cool.

Euro players will not be region-locked.

Talk of EVE-like battle reports.

Q:What is the largest technical obstacle in developing a game of this scale?

A:
In general? MMO's are large, complex, multi-process, big data, client/server, real-time applications, scaling to thousands of players in the same playspace which have to also be fun. Isn't that a enough?

Seriously though, the biggest technical obstacle in my experience is always adequate testing. Any large, complex system is going to be difficult to test to a solid confidence level unless you have crazy levels of resources. Fortunately players are excellent at letting us know when we've missed something, and no uncertain terms!

Those are just the normal, run-of-the-mill MMO requirements though, and inour next information drops we'll be talking more about the additional technical challenges we've taken on to bring you the Crowfall experience.

Q:Are there any of victory conditions other than the passage of time?

A:
There certainly can be! Our system allows us to make any number of Worlds, and any number of rules sets. The amazing thing about this design is that it allows for a huge degree of experimentation! Most MMOs get one chance - at launch - to find a mix of rules that appeals to the players. The great thing about the Campaign architecture is that we can be trying dozens of ideas in parallel, all the time. It's like a generic algorithm for MMO design: the good ideas can be replicated (and riffed on), the bad ideas can be filtered out.

This quote should intrigue a lot of people.

How will Crowfall create this same sense of community and bring people closer together than facilitating a place for people to "hide away" in instances?

GordonWalton, on 16 Feb 2015 - 11:04 AM, said:

Strange that you think this, as we literally don't have any instances in our game, and our design focus is on the interdependence that drives strong community ties.
