With the new nvidia drivers, you can use DLSS override presets to tweak settings. There is no descriptions in the app of what the presets do though, which is stupid. Reddit thread was helpful:

Reddit thread

Preset A seems to be what I was using in game before the update. Latest & Preset J dropped my FPS by about 10 in the benchmark test. So the override setting does seem to be working.

Btw Some people are reporting crashes on startup with this game. Been fine for me so far.

Bikes are best if only for the reason you can easily squeeze past all the other shitty drivers on the road
Yeah, it's all those OTHER drivers that are shitty. I was totally flawless and didn't just slip slide around the ENTIRE game.

I've been reading that Reddit thread you posted trying to figure out what I want to do, and I think I might just keep the current drivers right now. The weird override deal makes no sense if it doesn't explain what the hell it's even supposed to do or what settings do what. I think I'm just getting too old.

Thank you though.

or youre just using a laptop
Hey now, five years ago it was supposed to be the best laptop available. It's actually got desktop components in it that were top of the line for the time.

I know I need to go just build a new machine, but it's played everything perfectly fine on that settings. Trying to think of one of the last games other than starfield that I played. Maybe Remnant 2, and that game looked fantastic and ran flawlessly.

Agree. Seems like a cluster fuck right now. I guess there is documentation somewhere explaining the presets. But why do we have to go hunt for it or get it off reddit? I installed the drivers after reading somewhere that cards going back to 2018 received improvements. Then I ran a benchmark test and my avg FPS dropped from 74 to 65 so I ventured into that thread to find out wtf was going on and if I needed to roll back or what.

I guess it's cool there's an option to improve quality? But I see no discernible difference when I run bm tests so I'd rather stay above 60fps.

Yeah it's just goofy. I've always just updated my drivers when the Nvidia experience the old told me there was a new one available, especially if I just picked up a new game I would always go and check. Never had any issues prior to the last one. Never did a clean install or anything, but the newest one really screwed stuff up, especially for other games that I was playing that I never had a single issue with ever.

Now I'm real hesitant to immediately install whatever. From my understanding it seems that when they did the app deal, that has caused a lot of issues because maybe it's in the beta phase stillbut who the hell knows. I just don't trust things that are called an app. It's a goddamn program, not everything has to be related to a stupid smartphone.
