Looking into it a bit more I think the server might be up, just the launcher crashes on startup because the site is down. I could get in through daoc-portal if they didn't have some silly password length check.
Can't keep an addict down. If you just use portal's connect.exe from a command line you can feed it any password length you want.

Site was down last time I checked, meaning no new account creation, but last night it was at cap which has been extended to 1300. I got on this morning using the Dawn of Light launcher (site being down meant the Origins launcher was borked) and was finally able to make a decent amount of progress. Went from 10 to 18 in a little over two hours. During that time I saw a wide range of groups being put together so at the moment the server foibles haven't doused the overall interest.

Damn, 1300 people? That's impressive. Seems like this server is snowballing as more and more people hear it's actually going "well" (at least in terms of population). It could hit 2000 as the word spreads that the pop is doing well. If they upgrade their servers, that is. Sounds awesome, because as people have already said over and over again, no game has ever been able to replicate the PvP in DAOC.
Im creating my cleric to get the Eorkern name but I still don't have internet to play decently.

so, its eems you guys are all running on albion, I might have to change from running hib to alb if I ever get a chance to play.
So how is this server? Population still healthy? Long term viability? Don't want to start playing something that's going to die in a couple months.

I'm trying MxN, but I get no health/xp gump. I figured maybe it was offscreen or something so I nuked my character's ini but it is still gone.

You should have a command window on the right with a tab for "Status" click health power end. They'll appear in the upper left and you'll need to re-position them. Also in there somewhere (utility?) click PVE to show pve xp.
