I get what you are saying but the amount of people that don't know the basics of how to play every class is probably pretty low at this point.
I don't remember exactly but DAOC was pretty brutal to cap at release and got easier as newer classes and areas opened up. Especially battle grounds.
I'm going to have a couple thid ready characters I think. I experimented with polearm to 20 on my Armswoman, but I want to spec out of it and can't seem to get the single line respecs to work. The obvious /respec polearm didn't go, and tried the french and german equiv as well. Anyone have any ideas?

So they let the whole first wave of people have level 50 for free. What utter horse shit. That totally kills the social aspect and community building of a MMO. I was really looking forward to this but after seeing how they handled this I think I'll stick to EQ.
It wouldn't be so bad if it were just that, but the level 50s are heavily skewed towards Hib and to a lesser extent Mid, because those realms got on the train first. So it's going to utterly fuck RvR for at least the first few months, if it doesn't end up having longer-term effects.

How does twinking work in this game? I heard it wears down items quickly if theyre too high lvl, can u put any level of items on lowbies?

I never played DAOC but am thinking of trying this, Is it a game with a really strong emphasis on pvp? that has always been what I got from people mentioning it here. personally I love pve raids and groups, hell even solo if done well like necro in EQ. Does this game have much of these or is it super heavy pvp with pve taking a major backseat?
I played RZ for year in 99-00 and looking back it was an amazing, and unique experience. Is it more like this or TZ? my only other enjoyable pvp was WoW first season arena. Battlegrounds in games never hold my interest much.
Also does anyone trust the devs at thsi point after letting half the server basically instantly get 50? how much will that fuck things up?

THeres BGs (if its like uthgard, not sure) and also frontiers zones where factions mingle and can pvp. You fight for keeps, im not exactly sure how it all works but u get regular experience from killin in PVE, and realm experience from PVP which u can buy skills with. Too early to tell impact it will have but plenty of people right now on albion just enjoying the game, grouping, doing dungeons. Should have been that from the start but well see where server is in a month and we can assess better impact it had.

This is just a really bad decision by the admins. If this was that big a deal that you need to rush a fix, then they should roll it back completely and not screw the people who weren't in the first wave. Ironically a good chunk of the people screwed were due to the server admins registration and account creation not working.
Given the amount of bugs and this setup I'm not sure I'm going to play here. The insta 50s for the first day people versus me having to grind in a group has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Its funny i have 2 50s but i find myself leavin them alone doing what i wanted to do which is to level normally with my 3rd toon, an inf.
You should have leveled the Infi first! I'm sure many people leveled the stealther harder to level classes first riding the zerg wave which gives them a great headstart on RRs and levels in this environment. I also laugh that those complaining the most about the need for this change are probably those same people with multiple 50s.
I don't blame the admins for the zerg xp issue, but either allow the people your incompetence locked out of the first weekend to have the same capability or wipe the server.
Yeah i have a feelin i must twink him a bit before playing. I picked merc first because i expected a long ride to the top. When i saw how it was decided to roll a necro next to be able to solo farm when yhings die down a bit at night
As soon as i ding 50 i started on inf but patch went in.
