Yep I really like the idea of the game but not as an extraction shooter thing. I don't know why there's no real dungeon crawler game. This game could consume me…but I stay away. Not sure why other than I am not a fan of battle royal/tarkov games.

There are many dungeon crawlers. I think theres two issues.
1. the genre is so large that its hard to identify one game with all the specific features YOU may want. what gets tagged as "dungeon crawl" in steam is pretty huge.
2. that said, there still aren't enough entries. grimrock was a huge success for a bit there.. where are all the clones?
Lets look at a few that come to mind.
Barony. roguelike. 1-4player. deep skill system. class based. fast paced. (one of the things I don't like about it. not a crawl, its a rush. minotaur timer forces to move quickly, not explore)
Lunacid. kings field/shadow tower spiritual successor. This might be what you are looking for. nails it. only downside might be copying the ps2 era graphics to really nail that kings field look.
neverlooted dungeon. physics based, dungeon crawl. solo char, no classes. intended to be reminiscent to ultima underworld.
those are 3 I know that are great.
others? theres 100% more that went under my radar. theres also some more open world stuff, that would still scratch the itch. like elden ring.
no rest for the wicked might scratch the itch.
noita is kindof.. but also not.. (don't read spoilers on noita. just be aware, the game is WAY bigger then it seems at first.)
dread delusion is very solid. but more Morrowind, then dungeon crawl specifically.
Dread Delusion on Steam
or.. are we looking for blobbers?
Legends of Amberland II: The Song of Trees on Steam
Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord on Steam
Theres of course Darkest dungeon likes.
Darkest Dungeon® II on Steam
Circus Electrique on Steam
cryptmaster is kindof neat.

3. "open world" largely killed the dungeon crawl. few games intentionally keep it to a dungeon. even zelda/from soft got enamored with "open world".

So, which are we looking for exactly?
the amount of games that still feel like it, if we allow open worlds. like dread delusion/elden ring there of course greatly opens it up. same with metroidvania's.
theres lots of metroidvania's, such as say, Animal well, that could 100% qualify as a dungeon crawl. or salt and sanctuary/blasphemous type stuff. bloodstained.
I tried this game for the first time last week. I played it for about 10 hours over 2 days as a solo rogue. The game has a lot of charm and enjoyable aspects, but it's clear that it isn't for me.
Reason: Every time I would encounter another person, I would ignore them -- even when they were about to die. Sometimes I would even kill the creatures attacking them and then turn around and go about my business.
What did I get for my aid? I was killed. Every. Time. I'm not complaining; I know it's part of the game, but the game just reminded how much I hate people online.
