You should vendor souls this time around too. They finally made their sell price the same as what you get for using them, saving you the trouble of having to keep track of all their values.

And yeah, shards are vendor trash. I've upgraded more weapons to +6 than I can count and I still have a couple hundred shards and large shards.

One of my goals in this game is to get good enough with dual weapons to use Dancer's swords. That's the only interesting (debatably worthwhile) item I've seen in the boss soul item list.

Pretty sure the mechanics of the game make the dancer swords trash. With their damage split up, mitigation works on each individual damage amount.

Interview with Miyazaki:
I'm fine with them taking a break for DS4. I'd like to see a DS type game in a Sci-Fi setting or something other than Medieval-like times.

I'm surprised there haven't been many copy cat games yet. Lords of the Fallen is the only one I can remember. Konami should have come out with a Castlevania DS type game by now.

Sure except for the permanent spin stun lock you can get with them, in PVP at least.

That and the move set is trash for pvp, believe me I tried. Almost every other type of attack is better except one handed club, that one is just embarrassing even if you land the unique frenzy.

Sorceror playthrough continues to proceed painlessly, thanks to Raw Astora SS, but I think it's about to get a lot harder. Raw's limitations are gonna become more of an issue, and my god sorcery is weak as fuck right now - so weak I'm not even using it.

Yeah Pyro is so much better in this game its not even funny. Lightning Faith builds took it in the ass this time around, as well.

RE Dancer Blades-
They are fun, but utter dog shit because of the split mitigation issue and the spin move does next to nothing when blocked, beyond draining your stamina bar and leaving you open for a massive cornhole combo. That is from a PvE perspective (I am not into PvP) and is true of pretty much all dual wield weapons. While I have not done the Prince or Dragon yet, my general observations have been that the Moonlight GS is a good, if situational weapon. Havel's Ring is nice if you want to armor up some. The Dragon Bow is good for pulling, because the special shot travels straight and farther than the basic longbow shot. Outside of that, the boss souls items are all laughably bad. Really, with extremely little stat investment you can plow through the entire game with the weapon path of Estoc to Frostbite blade thing to Sunbro Sword (Anri's if you are doing the luck thing) and even a garden variety Longsword with Hollow or Dark on it is going to outstrip just about anything else. Halberd weapons are somewhat ok (the fire witch faming pike thing that is also a catalyst is fun) and there are one or two good spears (Gargoyle one and maybe the modded up knight ones from the end of the game) out there, but all of them are random trash drops. The boss items are complete crap for the most part and if you are not bothering with casting (hint: you probably shouldn't) you may as well vendor them. Almost all the best weapons are lying around waiting to be looted or trash drops.

That's really the biggest issue with this game (worse than DS2 at launch) along with the poise being irrelevant and the camera/target lock being completely fucked. I can safely say that 90% of my deaths are caused by lock dropping off of an enemy two inches away from me and it subsequently flipping me around so that I get a proper ass ramming from the mob. It is especially frustrating on large but fast moving enemies.

One of the most important things I've learned from watching videos is that wearing armor, no matter what, is of huge importance. Each slot has a flat damage reduction that happens regardless of what you equip, with absorption % on top of it based on the armor's actual resistance. If you drop your helm for Fashion Souls you are basically taking 10% more damage.

That's very true, but poise is essentially meaningless. The player gets stunfucked by the wimpiest of hall trash and enemies either ignore getting hit entirely or are locked as long as you can mash R1 with zero in between. Its kind of sad, really, because poise builds working as an option was one of my favorite parts of DS2.

Interview with Miyazaki:
Bandai is saying its the "final episode", yet Miyazaki is saying otherwise. It makes me wonder if they're breaking it off with Bandai like Vorph was hoping.

I wish they'd make another Demon's Souls, but whatever it is, I hope they stick to doing more horror and dread type games..they seem pretty good at it.

Beat the game, not sure if I want to do another round or give something else a shot. If I do another, I might dick around with something ranged like an archer for hilarity's sake.

What level are you guys finding a lot of PVP at? I just finished NG+ finally and I've been holding at level 120 since nearly the beginning. Over 4 million souls on me currently, as I'm afraid to go any higher and really bork my pvp matchmaking.

Darkmoon covenant finally done, took basically all of ng+ to get summoned enough to do it. Though towards the end I was just waiting around, and yea this is anecdotal, but changing areas frequently (especially endgame areas) really seemed to speed up getting summoned. Chill at Anor Londo for a few, if no summon, swap to Archdragon, etc.

Played around invading for a bit but meh, their mechanic of invasions being drawn to worlds with summoned phantoms in them is pretty boring. Out of 8 invades tonight only one wasn't at least a 2v1 immediately, so it got pretty old.

I haven't ran in to a greatshield in a while, really kind of want to so I can try the knight slayer ring and see if it helps at all. Otherwise that build is just gonna be cancer until a patch I guess.

Played through Smouldering Lake, kind of a pain in the ass zone. Demon boss has been the roughest time I've had on a boss in this game - not very surprising because Smelter Demon was my cockblock in DS2. Still took <10 attempts, but I just had to chance my tactic. Instead of continually getting behind I just went aggressive on his dick. Picked up the FUGS but it's going to be a few levels before I can wear that. Right now still using Dark Sword/Exile Greatsword.
