Weren't they supposed to create a brand new villain just for the game? Did they change their mind on that, or did they just mean new as in "not joker"?
Yeah, here's what wikipedia says:

The game introduces the villain Arkham Knight, a character created specifically for the game by Rocksteady, DC Comics CCO and comic-book writer Geoff Johns, and DC co-publisher and comic artist Jim Lee. The Arkham Knight is described as a militarized version of Batman, with the "A" logo of the Arkham Asylum facility worn as an emblem on his chest.

I still think Cartoon Network are a bunch of whores for canceling Young Justice due to toy sales. May jackals devour the young from their rotted decrepit womb.

its that time of year when nothing is on so i catch up on stuff i missed. i realize this is for animated movies, but there isnt a more generic DC thread so i am adding this here. just finished watching Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds, it wasnt nearly as bad as everyone said, but its not great. i am no fan of reynolds and this role did him no favors in changing that. i can understand why the movie failed. i think with a stronger more likeable actor as Hal Jordan and a more interesting story they could make this into a good franchise.

Though really, it was pretty obviously going that way in the movie. He's a pretty cool character. Like many comics the villain is far more interesting than the hero. I'm no expert on Lantern stuff though.

And casting Mark Strong was the smartest thing they did with that movie. Like, by a huuuge margin.

Bumping this thread reminded me to check the upcoming schedules of newer movies. Sure enough, there's 3 more (so far) coming in 2015.

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (January 27, 2015)

Cast:
Matt Lanter as Aquaman / Arthur Curry
Sumalee Montano as Mera
Sam Witwer as Ocean Master
Sirena Irwin as Queen Atlanna
Jerry O'Connell as Superman / Clark Kent
Jason O'Mara as Batman / Bruce Wayne
Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman / Diana Prince
Christopher Gorham as Flash / Barry Allen
Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern / Hal Jordan
Shemar Moore as Cyborg / Victor Stone
Sean Astin as Shazam
Steven Blum as Cyborg's Armor
Harry Lennix as Black Manta[2]
George Newbern as Steve Trevor
Melique Berger as Sarah Charles

Plot:

After the events of Justice League: War, Ocean Master and Black Manta have declared a war against the surface in retaliation of the aftermath of Apokoliptian-tyrant Darkseid's planetary invasion. Queen Atlanna seeks out her other son, Ocean Master's half-brother Arthur Curry, a half-human with aquatic powers with no knowledge of his Atlantean heritage, to restore balance.

Living with powers he doesn't understand and seeing the danger around him, Curry takes steps to embrace his destiny, joining the Justice League, and with his new teammates he battles to save Earth from total destruction.

Two other movies coming out in 2015 (no actual dates, just titles) are: Batman vs Robin; and Justice League: Gods and Monsters

completely agree, maybe we will get green lantern spinoff on the flash one day. They already have included Ferris airport in the show.Premiere: 26 Easter Eggs You May Have Missed

The after credits scene shows exactly this

I agree with you. the movie was nowhere near as bad as people made it out. I would have watched sequels.

Throne of Atlantis is available in the usual places. Haven't watched it yet, but probably will try to get to it tonight.

Throne of Atlantis was decent, worth the watch I suppose but not awesome. And you have to ignore stuff like how Superman would have taken out the entire Atlantean army (minus the guy with the magic spear, which was nice to see as a weakness actually) all by himself if this shit really went down. Or Wonder Woman. Or even Flash, Shazam, or Green Lantern if it came to it. Not sure Cyborg could, and I'd say Batman would have a hard time but I'm sure he had some plan... And while I love Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, they literally have him do the stupidest shit power-wise in these things. Good thing I'm not a fan or I'd be pissed at how retarded he is sometimes.

There is an after credits scene too, which cleared up my confusion as to why one particular character was in the credits but I didn't remember seeing them in the movie.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I couldn't stop thinking that the Atlanteans looked like Dark Eldar.

I agree Vvoid, decent but that was about it.

I really don't like how they have transformed the Green Lantern character into Ryan Reynolds, he is so fucking annoying now.

I liked the Green Lantern from the T.V series: Justice League: Unlimited.

that's because John Stewart is a badass. But I mean, Hal Jordan is a arrogant, irresponsible asshole, so they're playing him correctly. Even the Christopher Meloni Hal Jordan from First Flight was a mouthy jerk.

Comic writers seem to be some serious manchildren. They love running jokes, even horrible ones. Like they just refuse to drop "hank pym slapping Janet", "shehulk did/didn't have sex with Juggernaut", Batman knocking Guy Gardner, etc. They run that shit until its literately the only thing left of the character. it gets brought up EVERY time they show up.

"Hal Jordan is a dumbass." Has been a thing now for a while. Its based on golden/silver age sillyness. It has lately gained meme status and writers are going out of there way to make Hal do and say dumber things in the comics.

It was ok, but I still feel like these "New 52" Versions are a step back. War, the newest Batman one with Damian and this one have all been sub-par.

I did not like the bad guy dropping Shazam back to Billy. And they play him way too kid annoying. Justice League Unlimited Captain Marvel was Superior. And First Flight Hal is still superior to the New 52 Hal.

The power levels of everyone feels way off, having to shove the crappy Superman/Wonder Woman romance is annoying.

I'm just not impressed. So far the Suicide Squad one was the only decent showing recently.
