Seems like the Flash movie would be canned if they would get rid of everything else. But maybe they'll use it to deliver the reset of the DC universe.

Even if it's a full reboot, I don't see any reason why they can't use the same actors, except for financial considerations.

Gunn likes weird characters. I bet he wants to branch out from the core JL. I mean it looks like Lobo is gonna be a major focus.

That's fine but you can't ignore the big characters either. A DC universe without Batman or Superman doesn't make much sense.

This shit about Gunn and Safran wiping the slate clean actually does jive with the earlier rumor that Gunn was eyeballing Momoa to play Lobo, but it still seems extreme.

I mean we still have the new Batman movies. Having multiple Batman is just as stupid as when Batfleck was still a thing. As for Supes, I think half the country dislikes classic Superman just because of what he traditionally stands for. Which is why they were pivoting to Supergirl and Blackerman.

Use the Flash movie to park this universe and reboot a new one.

Try and salvage a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Mix things up, make Momoa Lobo and Cavill Batman.

Yeah, that would be like trying to make the MCU with b list heros...Iron man, Thor, Capt America. An MCU without The Xmen or Fanastic Four doesnt make much sense.

No, that's definitely not true.

If half the people were into woke bullshit, it would be a lot more profitable than it is. The extreme left are far more vocal, but still pretty far from the average consumer

Yet almost every movie or TV show has their agenda pushed in it nowadays. They already had Supergirl about to take over for Cavill in Flash and were working on Black Superman before the WB changes. Look around at the U.S. and you are gonna see that we are not even considered the average consumer nowadays.

*turns over a shitty WW 3 script that doesn't jive with anything Gunn is doing*

Writer's for Black Adam, Superman, and Batman will fall in line and act accordingly.

Nothing is stopped. Jenkins couldn't take the heat.

I wonder if actual comic book readers would have called Cap or Iron Man b-list at that time, seeing as how Civil War had just finished and the two of them had played such prominent roles in it.

being one of those comic book fans... yeah... probably? the avengers, up until the MCU, were different from the justice league in that with the justice league, it was a collection of the best selling characters. with the avengers, it was a group of less popular characters who had trouble selling individually. like everyone knew who captain america and ironman were, but up until.. hm... late 90's early 2000's people weren't buying their comics. x-men, fantastic four and spider-man were mostly where it was all at. obviously you'd have some good runs of thor. hulk, cap and ironman interspersed around the years but people joined the avengers because they were a b tier hero. the avengers is a group that is very much greater than the sum of it's parts.

even during mid 2000's and 2010's the individual characters weren't doing much with their individual comics, but a huge part of that, i think is because marvel went on a very long run of group up after group up, crossover event after crossover event. i think it made it especially hard on certain characters that SHOULD be considered A tier, like cap... i mean everyone in universe basically considers steve rogers s-tier, even thanos figured that at the end of things it would be just him and cap and the champions bracket... but because of all those crossover events that were just happening one after the other, you'd get cap in 15 different simultaneous comics all being written by someone else. most of them were forced to put those guys in to fall in line with whatever crossover they were doing.

so, my point is, that even with all the focus on guys like thor, cap, ironman... it's hard to call any of them more than b-list unless the avengers are part of the conversation.

obviously someone more knowledgeable might have a different take, but i read avengers, cap and thor a ton between like 2000 and 2017 or so... and that's my take on it

People always bring up X-Men, F4, and Spidey but that's like saying that everyone in the late 2000s was B-list because they weren't as big as Brad and Angelina.
