If we're going to have a movie full of a bunch of Wolverine variants, I'd like to see Zach Galifianakis and Ricky Berwick play a variant as well.
For some reason, when I read this my first thought was a Dave Chappele wolverine mixed with Tyrone Biggums. Has there ever been a black junky wolverine?

The SAG-AFTRA strike has taken its first big toll of the 2024 summer blockbuster season, as Marvel Studios has officially abandoned Deadpool 3′s May 2024 release date.

Marvel Studios has been hoping beyond hope to maintain the coveted release date of May 2024 for Deadpool 3 despite the WGA and SAG-AFTRA Strikes. While there was previously hope that the film would make its date, with Marvel putting it as its “top priority” post-strikes, a recent breakdown in talks has forced Deadpool 3 to be delayed.

If they give Ryan his way and it's a hard R they will make dump trucks of cash no matter which major holiday they release it on.

dump trucks of cash
actually between the strike delays and a presumed significantly increased production budget, I wouldn't be surprised if the third movie drastically underperforms compared to the first two

I'm sure all the delays are going to add a significant amount of money to the budget and hurt that bottom line. Stuff like Indy 5 and MI7 had their budget increased by close to 100 million each because of COVID and injury delays.

I have no doubt Disney has the power to fuck it all up, but seeing that they are realizing they are getting near the going broke part after going woke and are trying to get back to making money again, there is a non 0 chance they let Ryan have creative (but not budgetary) control. Ryan Reynolds is amazingly creative, which is why DP1 and 2 did so well. He even makes great commercials. Hugh and Ryan being IRL friends will probably help on set too. Keeps friction down.

nobody tells Disney what to do, especially since all the woke people who made everything woke for the last 4 years are still running the show. if we can have Black Ariel, black Hercules, hispanic Snow White, possible non white live action Frozen and maybe black Tarzan, a fucked up Deadpool 3 is not out of the ballpark. there is very little hope this will slip by the goalie. its going to be trashed in some way. Disney just hired a new Diversity chief and Tinisha isnt going to fool around.

Ryan Reynolds does to a pretty big extent if they ever want to see this movie made. Which they do, because the shareholders (who also tell Disney what to do) have noticed the money being thrown away by the billions the past few years. Ryan isn't going to play woke games at the expense of his billion dollar baby. DP was always a passion project for him.

The last 3 star wars movies were shit and all 3 still made them $2+ billion. Sorry but their pocket books are still getting full on this bullshit they are giving us.

any money they made off those 3 SW films has been squandered and disappeared. Galactic Starcruiser hotel lost them something like hundreds of milions of dollars. all their D+ SW shows cost 200 mililion each, they have all been ratings flops in the last two years
Ob1
Boba
Mando s3
Ahsoka
Andor.
then add another 200m loss for Willow and 200m loss for Indy 5
with the loss of the hotel. thats 1.6 billion dollars they will never see again.

-edit,
add in the loss for Solo, which had to be 100 million or so then all these greenlit Lucasfilm projects that never became anything. those non starters still cost money. not even gonna factor in the complete death of their merchandising division. Baby Yoda sold for a few years, but nobody buys it anymore and nobody is buying anything else SW that isnt related to the OT.

Their streaming shit has 100 million paying subs right now. Its not that much of a fail as you make it out to be, because while their shows are shit, true, people still continue to sub and they have only been growing their sub numbers. Just US alone, Disney+ brings in an estimated $2.87 billion per year.

Not trying to protect them here or white knight, but its the truth.

D+ operates at a loss. they were SUPPOSED to start making a profit in 2024 according to this report from February of this year. does it look like they had a good year?
