Various SSD manufacturers have varying amounts of over provisioning *(1)(2) of storage memory to help the internal SSD controller to perform wear leveling when writing to the cells of the disk.

Some SSD manufacturers provide software tools to allow for over-provisioning of drives by the user. Actually, even without special software, any user can set aside a portion of the SSD when first setting it up in the system by creating a partition that does not use the drive’s full capacity. This unclaimed space will automatically be used by the controller as dynamic over-provisioning.

Does anyone here format their SSD for less than the maximum space available on the device to increase the default over-provisioning? For most people answer will prob be no, just curious if anyone here still bothers with it today.

It was always my limited understanding that you didn't need to worry about it unless you were riding at near capacity for the drives. I'm a compulsive drive cleaner so I never worried about it. Isn't TRIM supposed to take care of this automatically if you have sufficient free capacity?

I used to be all over AMD budget cards back when I didnt play graphically demanding games. Back in the 5850/6850 days. Never had a problem with any of them. I even had a 7950 or whatever that card was when I splurged a bit and it lasted me a few years before it was showing its age. If AMD could make a GPU that ran all the new shit at 1080p at ~90+FPS for 1/2 the price of a 1070 or 2070 now, they would rake in cash. Most plebs dont have $500 to drop on a card. $250 is more reasonable and would sell if they tested/reviewed well.

Plus yorue only seeing these asinine prices from Nvida because they literally have no competition right now. And they are taking full advantage of this.

Well the Asus ROG Thor PSU came in and She's Alive! Now to get some new peripherals and I think I am done. Benchmarks to follow.

I'm actually looking for a new mouse/keyboard. Currently using a Razer Black Window and Naga. Any recommendations?

Hard to beat Das Keyboard. 2 USB3 connectors and volume knob are great: Amazon product ASIN B00JG01QTY
Second that Corsair M300, I have a little one and the crazy carpet size version, both are great: Amazon product ASIN B01798VS4C
If you want a nice general purpose multiple computer keyboard try Filco Majestouch Convertible 2. Changes easily between 4 bluetooth configs with keyboard hotkey (ie swap connection between Mac/PC/TV/Tablet) or Wired USB connection.

I bought a bigger (but still cheap) air cooler for my new Ryzen 2200G and overclocked the CPU to 3.8 GHz and the GPU to 1500 MHz. Not too shabby, lil Ryzen.
