I've never really followed AMD and always kind of stuck with Intel, but I'm not getting a huge price difference in the processors anymore. The expensive ones seem as though they are probably overkill. Is it worth it to stick to intel? Was looking at the $200'ish processors, but again, I have some room. I just dont think anything I'm going to be highly interested in playing is going to require more than that. Not the biggest fan of FPS's for example.
Memory, DDR4 at somewhere around 3666? 8x2 sticks seem cheap enough, but not really sure why some DDR4-3666's are $140 for 16 gigs, and some are $450 with the same specs? Would any of you recommend going to 32 gigs? What about the speed, is that high even necessary?
Motherboard, I have no idea on.. Probably again, something around the $200 range or less that lets me take advantage of the faster ram. I'm not going to run Dual VC's or anything obnoxious.
AMD Ryzen 2700 3.2
Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 33.84 cpu cooler
MSI - X470 Gaming Pro Carbon ATX Am4 Mobo
G Skill Trident Z 16 GB DDR4-3733
Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB M.2
Nvida 2060 (I havent looked too hard yet, but I dont recall seeing any 8 gig ones?)
Some Random case for 120 bucks
EVGA power supply G2 650
Any changes ver_21 ?
Its roughly 1400-1500 dollars. Not where I wanted to be, but not terrible either.
In general, wait a month or two until Ryzen 3Ks release.I'm building a PC for work, or if... Its a bit more expensive, I may switch out my home PC or my g/f's and send my old one to work instead and keep the new one. The goal is to just be able to play most games on max settings. 4k Would be awesome, but whats needed "according to the internet" is some 2k+ machine to push frames out nicely which is exactly where I dont want to push my budget.
