Phase 1 of the parts reshuffle is done. Wife's mini-ITX build updated with 5700X (from 3700X) and Strix 3070 (from 5700XT). I might switch the RAM to 32GB (currently 16GB 16-19-19-19 3600MHz). B550 mobo, 970 Evo+, 660W Platinum PSU, NH-U14S with Chromax cover/fan in a pull config, and a pair of LL SL140s. I've only run a quick CB R23, but at default/stock it gets about 14,500 multi core and about 1,530 single core. For comparison, my 5800X gets about 15,000 and 1,580 at stock. P95 small FFTs also had the CPU PPT at about 77 watts total, though the clocks dropped to around 3400 since it was power capped (65w) and the temps stayed in the low 60s. At stock the 105w 5800X keeps the clocks around 4280 under the same test. One day I will up the power limits and see what it can do.

Haven't tested my system since I bought it. It's pretty nice overall, but my video card is still
a damn GTX 1070. I refuse to get ganked on a newer one with all the crap going on. Anyhow,
decided to run CineBench and this is what I got:

If you have the cooling and mobo power delivery you can get that into the 28,000-29,000 range via AMD's PBO overclocking. I was only able to break 30,000 on my 5950x with a static multi-core overclock.

All what crap? All the prices have pretty much bottomed out. I've seen Best Buy with 3060's and 3070's on the shelf for retail. You can order 3080's and 3080ti's from Newegg and get them in 2-3 days.

I haven't used Newegg in forever, so haven't kept up with their inventory.
But the stores around here are either still out of stock, or selling for ridiculous prices. So... THAT crap.

I'll check out Newegg, but that being said I'll probably just let the 4000 series come out at this point.

The irony here is that the 3080 has an MSRP of $699, and the 3070 of $499. You can hardly find those cards at MSRP, let alone below it.

The only cards below MSRP are the ones that came later and had an inflated MSRP, like the 3080 Ti with $1199.

BB online website has cards daily to purchase - fuck newegg, now that the market has settled id avoid them like the plague they are for all the bs they pulled the last couple years. Also use the subreddit つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Low prices take my energy つ ◕_◕ ༽つ (reddit.com)

Fantastic deal if someone needs DDR5 for a build:

Expect to see DDR5 5600 get pretty cheap going forward as DDR5 6000 will be in high demand for AMD builds.

It's absolutely supposed to be plugged in to the router.

So far my NAS system has been running smoothely, with one exception. My computer freaked out and my Plex Server died even though my NAS was still active. Any idea how to move my Plex Server to my NAS instead of using my PC?

Might be an involved question idk.

Different OS, so it's going to be more complex, but it is still doable.

Just keep in mind that the NAS will be a less capable server as it will has just a Celeron j4025 in it. You'll definitely want to enable hardware accelerated transcoding if you haven't already.
