realistically no, unless youre a data center working that nvme every hour for sustained amount of time.is a heatsink necessary for a nvme drive? Im not overclocking or running a max machine.
What Lanx said - I’m running two in my PC with no heat sinks and temps have always looked good. Bought a heat sink for the one in my PS5 though.

have they fixed the Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB bricking at random?
Yeah, there’s a firmware update that fixes it.
in america they are practically dumping 980 2tb now, i snagged mine for 120$ but it hovers at 160$ nowI imagine they're still selling ones with old firmware. People might want to check with the retailer just to be sure
My Arctic Freezer AIO is starting to make watery bubbling noises. I'm guessing it has lost some water and starting to pump air. Kinda disapointed it only lasted like 2 years if even that.
Ordered a cheapo air cooler now. Thermalright Peerless Assassin. Seems to get good reviews despite it's low price.
tech jesus reviewed it, as good as high end d15, it's also 1/3 the priceMy Arctic Freezer AIO is starting to make watery bubbling noises. I'm guessing it has lost some water and starting to pump air. Kinda disapointed it only lasted like 2 years if even that.

I bet thats going to be one good looking build after its all together. I personally would go for a 1000 watt just for longevity. But it looks good regardless. My current iteration:

Something is inherently flawed in those, so Im still on the fence about them myself. Regardless of the firmware update.have they fixed the Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB bricking at random?
maybe go for a platinum or titanium too, it's minor but it adds to efficiency (power usage)and longer lastingI bet thats going to be one good looking build after its all together. I personally would go for a 1000 watt just for longevity. But it looks good regardless.
