I always fund those little annoying plugs from your case to the motherboard to be a bitch. I have big ass hands and fat fingers and sometimes those fucking little plugs are not labeled correctly either depending on the case. I wish they would modernize those into something standard across the board.

But yeah the heat sink is definitely the bitch part. everything else just snaps in like lego.

Don't go two or you will have the bezel right in the center. You need at least 3. Unless you want to just game on one and surf on other.
Yeah the purpose is to just have a game on one, and the other any other content like Netflix or surfing / access to ge tips, tricks etc. I actually saw my 24 inch on sale (dell IPS 1920x1200) for 249. So I have that coming tomorrow.

Not sure if other manufacturers are doing it, but these days, ASUS boards all come with a plastic header that you attach all that shit to and then just plug the entire thing in to the motherboard at once. It's much easier. I couldn't use it on my last rig -- not enough clearance from the motherboard for one of the SLI cards with this thing plugged in -- but it's much easier to plug all that shit in without trying to read the fine print on the motherboard (or god forbid, read the manual).

First computer I built which was hand-me down parts, I put a keyboard or mouse cable into a 1394 port. Winner is me. Yes, I saw the electrical spark and knew I fried that shit. Haha.

I have a GTX 760.

One would be for gaming the other for Netflix or what ever.
760 sweetspot is 1080p. So yeah stay at 1080p or you will have to upgrade the video card to a 770 or even better yet a 780 for a 1440p at good framerates.

Another thing about those plugs, if you notice, they dont label the positive and negative on the case plugs at all. And with your picture, yeah the red wire usually means positive right? But on my two cases its all black wires and it just says speakers or Power LED without labeling which side is positive or negative. But what I learned is you almost always face the writing on the plug out, not in and it works.

Dell U2312HM (IPS)

Asus VG236H (TN, 120Hz, 3D Ready)
The updated versions of the Dell ultra sharps are much better for gaming than the old stuff.

Check out Dell P2414h. The image quality is just as good as the u2312hm, but it has vastly superior response time and far less motion blur.

I think I am not understanding something here. Both of these Dell's have 8ms response time. Why is the response time of one vastly superior?

The IPS always have a bit more lag in the response time than TN. I actually prefer TN to IPS for gaming. In reality youre not looking at the screen from some odd angle when gaming, right? The TN panels have faster response time and come in 120mhz flavors so you can use vsync at higher FPS than just 60mhz essentially locking your FPS at 60 no matter how bad ass your video card is.

That is true when gaming you are looking straight on. I would just need to make sure the stand is adjustable for watching video's. The picture is not worse on TN panels?

anyone have experience with benq monitors? they seem to be a good bang for your buck on paper?
I have the BenQ XL2420TE. I like it, but it has a pretty narrow viewing vertical viewing angel (the gamma gets weird when you slouch.) Horizontal view angle is fine.

The XL2420TE was replaced with the XL2420Z, which is slightly better for gamma.

As far as motion goes, this is the best monitor period. The 120hz with flicker-free lighting is something you have to see to actually realize how good it is.

But it's only 1080p, and the 27 inch model is still only 1080p, which is fine because you want to be running games at a full 120 hz on it to get the full effect of the monitor.

But they're pretty expensive for 24/27 inch TN panels.

There is usually (but not always) a small triangle on the positive wire.

That said, you don't really need to worry about this with the case plugs. It's pretty rare that you can't just turn it around if it isn't working. You'll notice pretty quickly if it isn't.
