I agree with Jeydax's statement. I have the older Corsair H100 and I just swapped the fans out for some quality ones that are pretty much dead silent. I usually always do this with any case fans to keep the rig as quiet as possible. I have my H100 on max speed and I can barely hear a thing with the PC under my desk.

wow this is awesome. I just came to this thread to ask about replacing the h100i fans because they can be loud under load. Thanks for the fan recommendation joeboo

If you get an H100i, just make sure to grab the bios updates from Corsairs web site. For whatever reason, mine had an audible pump noise when I first got it, but a bios update completely fixed that(no clue how that works, but it did)

So I ordered a i5-4690k from Newegg on the 25th, and still haven't received a tracking number yet.. Anyone else order a devil's canyon from them and received theirs?

Thinking about cancelling my order and trying out Amazon.

I have the H100i and stock fans, it's pretty much silent on the lower settings. The temp difference between 50% fan speed and 100% was so small that I never saw the reason to change out the fans. Did you guys with aftermarket fans see that much of a temp drop to make it worth it?

Thanks was going to mention that too. Once I hit the BIOS update on my H100i the pump noise went away and it is almost completely silent now.

Depends how much overclocking you do, I suppose. I swapped mine out after reading about the noise at max speed. Typically, fans that are shipped with CPU coolers and cases are fairly bottom of the barrel for CFM (airflow) vs dBA (noise).

Honestly my brother got one of those corsair all in one cooler solutions for his proc (same exact as mine) and it really was only a slight difference between my CM 212. Not really worth the $$ to me honestly. It does save you some room around your proc though. But im not a case window guy so the look of my box means fuck all to me.

can anyone put a link up for the h100i bios update. I could not find it anywhere on the corsair website. It only had links to download the manual and corsair link

Thanks Kuriin, didn't realize I had to have corsair link installed to update bios. Now I have a problem though. It'd not recognizing my h100i pump. I have the cable plugged in to the pump and into a usb header on my mobo but nothing. It recognizes everything but the pump. go figure lol. any ideas?

Never mind I got it working.

Hey guys, been looking to get a 2nd monitor and another SSD. I think this all works but wanted to run it by the pro's in here to see if there are any incompatibilities I might have overlooked.

2nd Monitor: ViewSonic 27"ViewSonic VA2703-LED Black 271 - Newegg.com
Would be paired to a 27" Planar I got on sale:PLANAR PX2710MW Black 271 - Newegg.comand connected to a GTX 580MSI N580GTX Twin Frozr II 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Newegg.com
I'd use it just for browsing/netflix etc, not gonna game on both. Think I'll have any weird viewing issues with these two? The Planar would use the HDMI hookup and the ViewSonic would use DVI. I've only ever used Samsung and this Planar (which I got just because it was on sale) so I'm not familiar with ViewSonic quality.

SSD: Samsung EVO 840 250gb, the one on sale for $130SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW 2.5 - Newegg.com
I have a 500gb 7200RPM storage drive and a 64gb SSD from 2011 that just has Windows on it. This would be connected to a ASRock Z68 Extreme4ASRock Z68 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gbs USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com
It should have six Sata 6.0gb/s connections on it, so I should be good if I didn't overlook anything? I'd leave the OS on the tiny SSD and just have games on the new SSD.

Don't understand monitors that large that can only go 1920x1080. I've had widescreen monitors since about 2002 or 2003 and I have not gone back. I agree with bho -- stick with QNIX and get it on Amazon (make sure the seller has 98%+ feedback). The 2560x1440 is amazing and once you go that resolution, forthatprice, you won't go back. Fuck Dell and their 1k monitors, lol.

I'm going back to 1080 as soon as a non TN gsync panel is released. Just takes too much GPU to run the newest stuff at 1440. I'll keep my korean on the side for web-browsing for sure though.
