On the last boss and it's a challenge after he gets down to a quarter of his life. I'd imagine hunter supers would cheese the shit outta this boss? Just super and head shots?

I think it'd be cool if strikes had greater rift/mythic+ style scaling.

Phew. All 3 classes at 280+ with Nightfalls to go tomorrow. Need to finish those tomorrow, grind IO gear for Hunter, Crucible gear for Titan and IO Legs for Lock and pretty much ready for weekly reset.

BTW Xur is on IO has Darci, Knucklehead, Eye and Acrium.

Is this game worth it as a single-player?

Any games it is similar to? Contemplating purchase, figured I'd ask before I end up with another middle-earth.

So far that's how I've played it, though not by choice. I have no idea how to interact, or work with others around me. No idea how to team up with clanners. This is the most anti-social multiplayer game I've ever played.

Yeah, I don't know how they could make a PC so anti-social in 2017. But they managed to do it by stripping literally every possible feature they could from the game.

Shit, I didn't even know I was accepted into a Clan with the rosters being broken, because there's absolutely nothing that lets you know unless you already knew about the Clan tab on inventory. There's no indication at all that you're even in a Clan, and then when you are, there's no way to actually DO anything with them without utilizing some sort of outside communication system.

That's definitely true. This is more geared towards you playing with a few friends you know outside the game already. We chat via phone texts to coordinate when we are getting on, then send invites to talk in game and join a fire team. Then there are things like strikes or crucible where you are put on teams but no real communication. You can just see each others position, if they have supers up, if they are dead or alive etc.

I'd say find 2 or 3 people, add each other as friends in game, and just join up to do stuff. Crucible, Nightfall, Flashpoints etc.

Literally just started playing a couple of hours ago, and have just left the farm for the first time, on my way through the first real "mission" I guess.

This has to be the most aesthetically stunning game I've ever played. It's just so gorgeous to look at, and the music is wonderful, varied and seems to fit perfectly with whatever is going on at the time. I find myself constantly pausing just to drink in the surroundings, and can't imagine rushing through this, especially for a first time Destiny player like myself.

On top of all that is runs like a dream maxed out on my old GTX970, and even during that early firefight in the Plaza, with several other players around and mobs/explosions everywhere it never once budged from 60 FPS, felt absolutely rock solid. Technically and artistically it just oozes AAA in my mind, and I'm really enjoying the story and characters as well. The gun-play and movement feels crisp and connected, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Early days, but so glad I picked this up. No matter where or how soon the journey ends, I don't regret the purchase for a moment.

Yeah, every time I stop to take a look at my surroundings I'm kind of amazed. I know when I first got to Io I was waiting on my friend to do something else, and I just stopped and looked up to see Jupiter massive in the sky. It was kind of a "wow" moment.

It's a shame they bungled the content so badly. Hopefully they're able to fix a lot of the issues in the coming months, because it's got an amazing canvas and baseline to work with.

There are also good resources to find other players like the Destiny phone app (which admittedly is a shit show but it does work), /r/fireteams, Discord, and a smattering of sites like DestinyLFG, Destiny Tracker, etc. It sucks they don't have these tools in game, but Bungie seems to align to the ideology that the community will take care of it. Which, to it's credit, it pretty much has.

For the Clan, I'd strongly suggest leveraging the Discord channel to coordinate things like Nighfalls and the Raid, at least for PC.

If you hit 20 on PC already you should turn in all your faction tokens, dismantle everything junk you get into shards, and then go to Xur and spend all the shards picking up 1 of each item he is selling before he disappears monday at midnight. Exotics can only be gotten from Xur or exotic engrams so its a lot of RNG on whether you will ever collect all of them, but buying everything he sells weekly is a big boost. Once you buy an exotic its forever retrievable in your vault under the collections tab so you can shard them right after Xur sells them and retrieve them later down the road (and infuse up to your current light) if the meta changes or whatever. Within a week or two you will be drowning in legendary shards with nothing to spend them on so don't try to hoard them, spend them on Xur every week.

For this weeks, the sniper rifle is junk so you can dismantle it immediately, the Knucklehead hunter helmet is great in PVP, and the titan and warlock ones are both pretty good in PVE. Any class can buy another classes gear, they just can't equip it, so you can buy it all even if you haven't leveled the alts and store it in your vault and give it to them once you level them up.

Bungie did just say they are working on ways to spend shards other than xur and infusing so keep that in mind. These certainly arent strange coins though so go ham imo. Also everyone i know is playing on PC, fuck my couch dreams :(

Can you clarify about the collections tab? It's sounds like you're saying I can buy exotics from this Xur npc, dismantle, then even though I dismantled, somehow get the item back from the collections tab if I ever want it again?

Yes. Costs some glimmer and 10 shards to recreate an exotic, and its base power level will be like 205. Just open your vault and go over to the collections tab, it'll list every exotic you've ever received and you can duplicate them.

The collection tab is the only way to really spend shards right now too. If you have too many shards, you buy exotics from the collection, dismantle them and turn in the resulting parts to the gun smith. Ends up costing 5 shards for the parts.

Oh ok thanks, that makes more sense. I was thinking "If I can retrive them whenever I want whats to stop me from just spam dismantling/retrieving for free shards" but that's cool.

And as a new Destiny player, are these worlds instanced or? I figured they had to be to some extent, cause some nights during prime time, some of these PEs on worlds are just dead as fuck and I know there have to be more people online than this.
