Nightfall was a joke this week. Jesus I remember how AWFUL the first NF was in D1 and this was an absolute cakewalk in comparison.

To be fair all you needed to solo a nightfall in D1 was an icebreaker. I think the torrent modifier this week is one of the funnest things in the game ATM.

Yeah, I've had the same though every time people reminisce about how awful D1 NFs were. "Uh, I soloed that shit every week with my Icebreaker..." It was almost always easier to do that and invite friends at the end for the rewards than it was to just group it normally.

Is that the one that reduces the grenade and melee cooldowns? Cause that shit was awesome, made things way easier. Playing on PC probably made it way easier too.

No... icebreaker was a sniper rifle that respawned its own ammo. It only held 6 (?) rounds at a time but that didnt matter.

He's talking about the torrent NF modifier in D2, we already had it on console before.

Finding the grind to 265 longer than I expected. Seems like people were doing it pretty fast, but it's taken me a ton of grinding PE's to get to the mid-250's. Feel like maybe I skipped something, but I don't know what. Maybe just bad luck with engrams.

It's pure luck on the first character. If you keep getting the same slots over and over you make no progress at all, and that can go on for extended periods of time if RNGesus hates you.

Run some lost sectors to changes thing up, they will give the same loot as a Heroic PE, though I think I've only had 1 exotic from a LS. Once you hit 260, and blues start capping at 260, you can use some Tokens to give yourself a boost to 265.

Read somewhere (I think?) that it's more efficient (progress wise?) to complete the campaign on one class, before starting a second. Can't even remember why except for the sparrow becoming available for Alts?

Can someone please confirm/deny? I've read so much random stuff about the game in the last couple of weeks, I've probably forgotten more than I remember. =P

Would much prefer to experiment with the other classes for a few levels each, before deciding on which one to see the end of the story with.

Ideally you want the highest level guns you can get your hands on before you start a second character, since it will be able to equip them immediately at 20 and it lets you skip a big chunk (or even all) of the shitty grind to 260.

Sparrow makes a huge difference too, though it doesn't take much luck to get one from Eververse even before your first character hits 20.

Ok, from another angle.

Say I level all three classes to level 10 (or whatever), and then decide I really like "X" way better then the other two. I take that class to the end, intending to play it as my main, and basically ignore the other two completely until I feel it's time for a change. "X" will be getting all the best weapons anyway, to be shared later on i guess?

Is there any disadvantage to having the others parked at mid campaign vs. not having started them at all before the first one dings endgame?

Might sound like a stupid question, but a nagging feeling that I read something somewhere about progression being affected. Does that make more sense?

edit: not sure what you meant by "skipping the grind"
edit2: oops, oh yeah, power level of course, from items, doh!
edit3: think I found the reference that was nagging at me. It was to do with the way the game calculates future drops based on the power level of gear in your inventory/vault. Think I'm in the clear, TA.

Yeah, that's more or less what I did. My second one was 20 before I really did anything with first. Other than the sparrow (which I got from Eververse on my first character) there's really no difference between a L1 and a L20 that hasn't done any post-game stuff.

No. If that were the case everyone that had 3 characters imported from D1 would be screwed over. I had 3 characters the moment I turned the game on.

Didn't play D1, so knew nothing about character imports, makes sense of course. Anyway, turns out I was confused about another issue entirely. All sorted :)

Managed to get to 265 today despite the exotic lotto being a fickle bitch all day. Running a Uriels for my energy, which I REALLY love and Mida for my kinetic, which I kinda hate but it does compliment the Uriels by giving me a nice long range option. Really not a huge fan of scout rifles in general it seems -- though the general consensus seems to be that for your kinetic slot Mida or Nameless Midnight are your best options. Will have to stop being slack and get myself a Nameless Midnight tomorrow to see if I like it better.
