Is this to get the freebie exotics and the final engram? It makes sense if so given I got 4 or 5 on the way up through the levels and gotten exactly 1 since then despite running heroics and LS pretty much constantly since hitting 20. Just want to make sure I am not missing some other mechanic / rationale?

Yeah, it's a fuckload of effort for basically one exotic and meaningless "progression" (280+) unless I've missed some way to exploit the system. The game specifically prevents you from getting multiple powerful rewards on the same class in the same week, whether you try to run three of the same class as alts or do the level-and-delete thing.
Gaige doing all that when he's already played it on console and knows what he's doing is completely pointless is a bit mind-boggling.

Game is the best. Messages like "you need to restart the game to continue playing" for no fucking reason which boot you out are amazing. Wasn't the clan issue fixed on consoles already? Why the hell is the PC version not have these basic bitch patches already implemented? Was a month later release not enough? Are the inmates running the prison?

Ya it's Zavalas guaranteed class exotic (I want Orpheus and it's 1/11 chance) and the higher rolled mida rat and Sturm. Also while you get the luminous debuff they still have higher exotic drop chance. It becomes less rewarding once rat and mida hit 300 though.
But the 1 in 11 Orpheus for 5 1/2 hours is enough for me to keep doing it.
To me leveling is basically the same as playing the game doing other shit and I actually really enjoy the game play. Plus I have a static team atm which makes it easy. Grind is after the Crest of Alpha Lupi for his Striker titan. We basically hit Titan do PEs till 15 which gets you about 80 tokens then burn through the story hitting 20 at Thumos.
The milestone grind is a bit meh but we dual Titan the Nightfall and I use a bottom tree Hunter with always invis so we finish with 10 to 11 minutes left.
Worth it? Nah. But like I said I enjoy it and would be playing anyway.

Exactly why I quit even just doing the flashpoint and clan xp luminous engrams; Titan is the only place I could ever consistently get decent PEs. Fast traveling almost never did a damn thing for me either, nor did the rally-and-wait rumor people talked about on reddit. I log in and grab my clan engrams, maybe do a lost sector or two in between the Nightfall and PVP one, if I think there's a decent chance of getting another BPL point. My guns are already all 305's so the raid engram is just praying to RNGesus for a rocket launcher or sword instead of the other junk.

I get the "you have been disconnected from the Destiny 2 servers" error, but nothing happens. Like i'll be running in the middle of the city, get error, click Dismiss, continue running around - doesn't skip a beat.

Hit 20. My power is now 220. What should I be doing and not doing at this point? I made a Titan.
Another thing...I know I don't suck this bad, but I see people with CRAZY amounts of headshots at the end of these matches. Am I missing something?

Heroic public events until 265, then weekly milestones (nightfall, clan xp, call to arms, raid, trials), then exotic quests (blue markers on planets post-campaign).

For me the best part of the random disconnects is that it tells me its randomly disconnecting me. "Booting you to desktop" on last boss of a strike. GEE THANKS.

Man I love Orpheus but no way in hell I'd run campaign 5 times to get one. Just play Gunslinger with Nighthawk until you get it.

260, for like the 10th time.
265 is from vendor tokens. Then 267/268 when you buy Xur's shit. Should space out the powerful rewards too... loot one, check to see if base power went up, if so fill in all the other slots that can go up by infusing blues to hopefully raise base power again, take another powerful reward, repeat until they're all done including clan rewards and NF. Sounds like a pain in the ass, and it pretty much is, but at least PC players can use DIM's base power calculation right from day 1.

Kind of irrelevant when you can technically do PE's until 305.

Except for the softcap at 260 where they shift from blues dropping at or above your base level to dropping at base level -5, with the side effect of only dropping 260's from 260 to 265. Hence the need to use vendor tokens and Xur to bridge the gap and start progressing again.
