So im kinda disappointed with this event. At least in the past, yr 2, the event(s) was a good way to catch up on the cosmetics you missed out on that season. Sparrows, skins, emotes, since every level up gave you two bright engrams. I understand they need to make money but this is also where they said they would not venture. It seems like all the cool shit is appearing in store rather than getting it in game. In the past I did not mind, because every level up was a chance at getting the stuff. But now? Either pay the big bucks or fuck off? Then they add in an 450 master worked AR to grind for, ok cool, another gun to add to my collection where it will be collecting dust. Who the fuck is gonna use this over the other 50 better primary that are actually viable in this meta? 450s were not in the meta since first year D2. And it wasnt really agrind either. One solid night of running the haunted forest netted me all the masks, plus the AR.
In fact this whole season kinda leaves me with a bad taste. Moon is cool as fuck, but why even go there to grind what? Most weapons from moon are garbage as well. 110 hand cannon that feels like ass, plus ass stats to boot, sniper? I guess its cool? Ill add it to my other 100 snipers in the bank. HMG which sucks vs all the other HMGs we got. Nade launcher? I have a dozen of those god rolled already, another 600 ar? Ok cool, I guess? Then they add in the haunts which are really cool, like a reprise of D1 strikes in a way. But again, where is the rewards to grind for? Mods? Bleh... also no refresh for any of the other vendors, gambit, Iron Banner, Banshee, all still the same shit.
Vex offensive? Same shit, cool activity but rewards are pure ass. A 180 hand cannon which no one will use? Especially now with the HC nerfs? Another 900 SMG to add to my already 25+ 900 SMG collection? Pulse I guess is cool, but again I have a shit ton of god rolled pulses. And they are all fucking ugly as hell to boot, fucking leaves on them? WTF? Plus to get the undying title, do you even know how much of a grind this shit is? 500 bow killing blows among the other shit you have to do? How many of these events do they want us to do to get a stupid title?
Plus all this weapons shit is moot if they still allow such crutch weapons like Recluse to go un-nerfed. why use anything else in your energy slot? I guess if you like to fuck around with other gimped weapons, but for anything serious, youre severely hampering yourself by using anything else. Have one divinity user to debuff, the rest have Izagani and recluse, plus a favorite heavy. Oh and sorry for those that dont have Izagaini, the quest is still fucking borked.
I guess the positives are still the seasonal 1-100 rank grind thing they added, that was cool. Plus the seasonal artifact is cool too.
It all basically boils down to they added really cool content but the reward structure is broken.
Sorry but im ready for the next season now. And we still have 40 something days of this one still to go. Not a good showing for first season in yr3 so far, at least IMO.
I guess I will just go into crucible now and grind out the throwing knife.

advised trying this out, and so I downloaded it yesterday, and... yeah. I think the game is fun, but why the hell do they just drop you all the way into current content at previous level cap and at the item level 750? That seems really lame. You can do the old content, but I don't think you really get anything for it at all...
