Has there been any information released on what kind of Beta things we'll be able to carry over into the Live game? Is it a head start, or will there be a huge wipe? I assume there will be a few perks carried over, just wasn't sure what.

I'd like to pre-order the white PS4 from Amazon with Destiny, but don't have a PS4 to play the beta, so I was curious if I'd miss out on cool stuff.

I just happen to fire up my PS4 and I saw a notification for the Destiny Alpha. I went ahead redeemed the key and started downloading the game client. I don't ever recall applying for it but I'm not complaining. I see there are classes in the game. So the game is pretty much a FPS MMO or something less or more? Cross between Borderlands/Halo?

not really since its going to be available on 360/ps3. i can't see a ton of pc players buying a console JUST for this, there is nothing really mind blowing in it and there are better PVP FPS' for pc gamers. Just another fun game to play in Sept, next gen slightly better but nothing crazy.

I do think a lot of xbones will move this fall thanks to the one two punch combo of Halo Master Chief (1-4 remastered), Sunset Overdrive and GTA5. not sure The Last of Us remastered + GTA5 + ??? will have as strong a punch for ps4, but next year looks like it'll be the big year for PS4.

I'm honestly looking forward more to AC5 now than Destiny

So was Cortana, which obviously means (As I liked her voice acting) we do not need to be put to sleep because it's a robot/AI. Peter Dinklage should be used for better voice acting with what I would guess they are paying him. Also so was GLaDOS. And both of those had personality to them. This one however, more than falls flat, it just bores me to tears being forced to listen to it. Especially when all the other voice acting is good so far.

They should rework that, unless it gets drastically better within 99% of the game we aren't seeing currently and we aren't hearing that.

The point being Peter Dinklage can do better. Let's not get on a crazy derail. It's really the only thing that irked me about the game.

The Ghost thingy's VO hasn't stuck out to me either way which I guess can kinda sorta be a bad thing? Then again I didn't even recognize it as Dinklage untill you all pointed it out so what do I know I guess.

Seems a minor gripe to me.

This describes it best.

Since your character is mute, the voice you'll be hearing more often than any other is that of your AI, Ghost. As many players will recognize immediately, the computer is voiced by none other than Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage. The actor is indisputably phenomenal on that show, and in his films, but his voicework here is.odd. I suppose as an AI it makes sense to have a relatively flat tone, but Dinklage's Ghost doesn't sound like a droll computer, it just sounds like Peter Dinklage reading lines from a script in a studio. Compared to his video game AI competition in the form of GLaDOS, Wheatley, Cortana and others, the voicework is weirdly off-putting and out of place, which is strange given the actor's obvious talent elsewhere.

That's pretty much how I felt when I learned it was Peter Dinklage. In the story mission before the Zerg hits, and he says, "Oh no. A zerg". I almost felt as if he was mocking the script after I learned it was him.

So, anyway, hoping that piece can be refined before release and the AI is given more personality by Dinklage. Won't stop be from buying it.

Yeah I agree. The Voice Over was the only thing I agreed with when it came to the negatives of the game. I like double jumping. And Double Jumping on Steroids like in Lifeless Planet.

He obviously doesn't know you can cancel the jump by hitting the jump button again. Now I know why games make boring fucking tutorials all the time.
