It also encourages the company to design their loot system around fucking you nonstop so that you break down and spend money on the RMAH and they get a cut.

Just like EXP boosters/buyable orcs in new solo games encourage devs to make their game a pointlessly padded experience, to encourage you to buy your way past the garbage.

I don't really care about the RMAH one way or the other. But it was implimented horribly for one thing. Even if you liked it and wanted to use it.

I used to think I wanted an Auction House, but having seen a few implementations in different games I'd really rather they tune the drop rates so that the good items are directly obtainable solo. It's just more fun to find the items yourself.

I don't particularly care if this "trivializes" content for people willing to play hundreds of hours in a stretch. It's ok for games to have a win condition.

Yeah D3 was originally designed from the ground up with that in mind. You could play through up until Infero act 1 but you would get your shit stomped in Act 2 inferno. Either farm and farm and farm and farm until you find some strong items to progress.

Or pay $30 for some shit to keep going and Bliz gets a cut. It was extremely obvious when you hit that wall.

Well in POE its not hard to find good items. It is hard to find good items for the specific build you want to make.

Wolcen is graphically great. Been stuck in dev hell. they finally seem to be moving forward. current act 1 is in. its interesting, in the PC is fully voiced. its a thematic arpg.
They have not fleshed it out. but there is an "almost" vermintide/l4d mode. Which I think has a TON of promise for ARPGS.
4 player premade, or hotjoin missions with boss monsters that spawn, and a challenge to get to the end. rewards only at the end.

It would take alot to get me to come back to Diablo.

Dont forget about Grim Dawn either which is a sloid ARPG offering although end game is kinda lacking compared to Path of Exile and even diablo 3 but the core game is really solid and one can easily sink in 200-500 hours just fucking around with different builds and see how far you can take them in their version of end game.

But ive been watching RaizQT on Twitch play Lost Ark in the Russian Open beta and him being a die hard Path of Exile player (supposedly has 25,000 hours logged) hes saying this is the best ARPG/MMO he has played in years.

Kinda makes me wanna go and install the russian version and try it, although I really wanna wait for the NA release which will probabaly be next year.

I do kind of hope there's some really god damn rare items in the game. Like, not the shit you actually need to baseline succeed, but some ultra rare quirky garbage.

Something non-essential to chase/make twitch clips when it drops.

the problem too, if you remember, was not only the RMAH but the loot as well. The loot in vanilla D3 was shit, rememebr how they brought in some outside help to redesign the loot?

Now that this is 99.9% going to be Diablo 4 I just realized that tradeable items is another make or break option in the game.

If the majority of items are BoP or BoE then i'm not playing the game.

The Opening Ceremony and then the individual announcement panels will be streamed on twitch for anyone. I believe the Q&A panels are gated behind the $50 online ticket, tomorrow.

Blizzcon.com should have an embedded stream.
