I think he means if he crafts +vit, any good roll dex/str/int (+other good stuff) makes for a decent item, while with say a +dex recipe getting +int or +str on top but no vit/more_dex is kinda meh.

Exactly. If you're for example trying to gear out a barb AND a wizard then rolling +vitaily amulets gives you the best chances of getting a dual stat useful amulet.

Need some help from the WW Barbarians. I have been picking up certain pieces of gear over the last week. Got a little lucky finding Ice Climbers with 173 Str/ 73 vita and 80 RA with Increased pickup radius for 6 mil. That helped since I was loosing the pickup switching my bracers. I think I am ready to make the switch from what I am playing now to a WW Build. I am trying to assertain whether or not I have enough IAS for the build. I have a EF with 0.25 Bonus to attack with +27% to AS on my gear. The Doll says I attack at 2.22 attacks per second. Is that all the IAS I will need on my gear or do I need to find one more piece? I also have 51,000 Life with 490 RA. My DPS with the changed gear is 91k unbuffed. I am running with a 24% increase to runspeed and 8.9% Life Steal.

You can figure out your wltw breakpoint in the link Ishad provided a bit back. In general if your a DW barb with EF you don't need to stack IAS gear. Cc and CD should take priority. If you are close to a breakpoint then get IAS. If not it isn't doing much. Since I'm starting to run a Skorn WW build things are a bit different. But for EF it is pretty basic. Your life seems high and DPs low but it is hard to say without running through d3rawr

Link your profile if you want some more specific gear advice. But generally as long as you are hitting the 7.5 break point, have 25% crit chance on gear and 24% movement speed you are geared enough to make the build work.

Ok, thankyou for the help. One last question, what exact route is used in ACT 3 to XP/loot farm at the MP1-2 level I always hear about? I am very familiar with key farming, but I am unsure of the optimal xp/loot area.

I think now with the drops of demonic essence Alkaizer may not be the end all be all route anymore. Its a solid route for XP still but it favors mowing down packs of whites instead of really hunting elites. There was also a video on reddit of some guy using a rend + sprint + WW build on MP5 that was getting better XP/hr than Alk. I think he basically just cleared Keeps 2 over and over again without caring to kill the elites. I believe the idea was to basically to run into a middle of a pack, rend and run out while your two dots kill the pack.

Vault of the assassin to black canyon mines is the best route for essences. I'm happy sticking to Alk as it produces enough essences to craft at a rate where I don't smoke through my limited gold and crafting mats too quickly.

I have to laugh a bit at the new recipes: every single one I've crafted (Dex) has had Int and some kind of useless resistence on it (Physical) plus usually the infamous "Monsters Take 5 pts of damage when hitting player" thing. Funny how RNG is RNG I know. The thing is, I just can't help but think Blizz is still trolling. If the item is account-bound and I buy the Dex recipe, why didn't they just make it so I *couldnt* then roll Int or Str? Would it really kill them to do that? What harm would there be? It is just wasting my time really - its not like the resource costs are significant enough to stop me from making numerous attempts, so why not just eliminate a chance for me to get something automatically useless? I think this is such a poorly designed game is so many ways.

I was running VoA mindlessly last night but it seems pretty piss poor in terms of XP/hr. I was still running the route that was basically clearing almost all of Act3. Basically Keep 3, Damned 1, Keep 1, Keep 2, Bridge, Crater 2 then go down the route to kill the spider, Azmo and then the two bosses in Act4. I was getting maybe 20'ish essence/hr and really good XP.

Those stats aren't TOTALLY useless. As a Monk, I don't mind something having an extra 150 strength on it, since my resists are high but armor is low. But, all my crafting has done pretty well for me. I did like 10 each of the gloves and shoulders and got solid upgrades, I've done about 21 amulets and gotten 3-4 decent upgrades (can't decide which I like most). None had the trinity of ias/cc/cd on them though.

Have you done any crafting before this patch? Cause it's always been this random. When I was making batches of 6 prop bracers not too long after release, I considered myself lucky if I sold 1 in 10.

Subpar modifiers exist to make it take longer to get perfect items.(not exactly the pinnacle of game design but it is what it is) At least thorns is the only one that's a complete fucking waste.

I figured to give this a run with the new patch, first time I played longer then 10 minutes since May I think. I'm still dissapointed and think the game has several flaws it shouldnt have if they had used more then their C team etc etc. But I'm actually posting to ask if the legendaries I found are worth anything. I just have no idea which of the stats actually matter to DH/Monk. I figure the quiver isnt much because of the low attack speed roll, but the monk weapon I cant judge at all. i'd appreciate some input on that.

The third one is an amulet I crafted (playing wizard), I figure with those stats I might as well stop crafting them for now? At least it was a huge dps upgrade (at the cost of like 10k life).

Why ask us? Ask the AH.

That's a trifecta amulet. Even if it is a tad low on IAS, I bet you could get some decent $$ for it on the RMAH.

Silly me not noticing account bound.

The new crafted stuff is all account bound, can't be sold. That is a pretty fucking amazing piece though. You're probably right about the quiver though, pretty sure the IAS range is 10-20, making that the worst possible roll. Everything else on it is pretty boss though, so I imagine you could still get a decent price.
