I just got back into d3 myself and ive had meh luck with legendaries - So im wondering is the best setting to farm them on T1 or what? Also how do the legendaries actually differ on one setting from another?
Difficulty level doesn't effect the quality of loot, just quantity.

Keywardens only drop keys in Torment mode (Torment 1 = 25% up to 50% in Torment 5) and there will be some level 70 legendaries that only drop in Torment mode, but that won't matter till RoS is released.

I was a quitter of this game 2 or 3 weeks after it came out, like many. I just came back and reinstalled for the first time since then after reading this thread and seeing it mentioned elsewhere how things have improved. I'm bored already. I have a 60 WH who I got a couple of legendary upgrades on and a few yellows, and like 20 paragon points after playing the past week. I'm capable of killing things in Torment 1. I haven't got a single upgrade in many hours of playing, and even the legendaries that drop are shitty vs the yellows I have. Then I thought to myself, even if I got better upgrades, who cares? I bump up to another torment level, and...what? Kill the same shit over and over again in the same relative difficulty?

There's just no carrot on a stick in this game for me.

You're grasping at major straws here. Because I agree that items are bland and bad doesn't mean I'm comparing to D2 with some nostalgia and oh my god games where so much better. No, items are just bad.

Most of the legendaries just aren't even usable, they don't even meet a baseline for usability. Half of them don't even have unique effects. We could start making them usable by having some mandatory stats. Like a socket on weapon, crit chance on hat/bracers. We could get rid of half the 2h's. That's just to start in an easy way that actually makes the tag mean something.
No, because you said you agreed with the fucking picture. Jesus.

Yes, most of the legendaries, right now, aren't that great. Because legacy items. Because rerolling affixes isn't available yet. Because 2.0 went live way early and you've had longer than expected to farm at 60. Because you have unrealistic expectations of what an orange should be. Apply some context next time so I don't have to spell shit out multiple times.

Starting to feel the same way. I was excited as hell just a few days ago when I came back, and had a ton of fun the last couple nights playing. But after running the same dungeons over and over I'm already bored. Maybe if there was a pvp arena, or even a ladder system then there might be something worth grinding for.

But I'm glad I burned out quick again before giving them any money for an expansion pack. 2 days ago I was ready to buy it. Now I wont bother, this game just has zero sticking power.

Ha, me too. I almost bought the expansion. Glad I didn't, because I know I'd get bored quickly after hitting 70.

To me it's just boring because this is a loot hunt game and knowing every piece of gear you pickup right now is worthless in 2 weeks or so kind of kills it.

Im kinda there - went from 6 paragon to 60 something in a few days but im not quite sure WHY im playing already. Its fun and all and i will be sure to level a crusader but i think it will be something to do inbetween Titanfall and waiting on Heroes of the Storm.

Good to grab some Paragon levels while there's the 50% xp buff.

Beats a jab in the eye with a sharp stick, at least.

Have you never played an ARPG? You do realize this paradigm exists in every single one of them, right?

Maybe, just maybe, you'll learn to read, and not put words in people's mouths that never get said. You wanted to imply something I never said, you got showed it wasn't even remotely true, and now you're trying to backtrack your way out of it.

That's great, you can reroll affixes in the expansion. Does that actually change anything? No? The bad legendaries are still going to be bad, but if you waste resources you might be able to make at least vaguely usable. That doesn't make the system better, that just raises the bottom line of loot farther. These things should be default, legendary weapons should have sockets, and hats and bracers should have crit chance. You shouldn't have to get the item and then do a bunch to it to make it usable, especially when it means you're just losing on ways to improve the item in other ways.

Yes, yet some others still seem to be more fun for whatever reasons I can't necessarily articulate. I will say not my most favorite game genre, though, for sure, for that reason. D2 seemed to be more "fun" for whatever reason, for example.

I went from not buying the expansion to YES PLEASE, getting my 4 piece barbarian gear helps though.

Agreeing with the picture means you agree with everything in the picture. Explicitly deny certain parts or people are going to assume otherwise. Pretty standard. Sorry you got caught looking like a dumbass.

WTF are you smoking? Rerolling affixes changes everything! I've got a tab in my stash almost full of JUST weapons that would be great if they had a socket. And they're all one reroll away from it. Requiring weapons to have a socket IS a problem, one that the reroll system relatively negates, but it is NOT a problem with legendaries specifically. All weapons(and helms) suffer from this. Different issue, don't conflate the two. See, this is what I meant by "unrealistic expectations". Some legendardies are going to drop and all it means is that it can roll higher main stats and a guaranteed stat or two. Some legendaries just aren't that great.

You need that stratification within an item class otherwise your upgrade system is going to be obtuse and clunky. At one point in your character's career, 4 affix rares were awesome. You were probably wearing mostly blues. Then 5 affixes. Then 6 affixes. Then ok legendaries. Then awesome legendaries. Stop thinking just because it's orange, you're going jizz in your pants. Instead, learn that an orange 1H sword is likely jizz worthy. Or an orange glowy 1H mace.

"That doesn't make the system better, that just raises the bottom line of loot farther.".....wut? How are you this dumb? Raising the bottom line does EXACTLY that! Those 20 demonic essences I just wasted rolling archon chests? Well, I wanted dex/vit/sweeping winds/3 sockets. But the best I got was dex/vit/sweeping winds/lps. That chest piece now becomes the piece of loot I was looking for with rerolling. That's awesome! Increasing the potential amount of dropped loot that I want is great. Who doesn't want that? And then when the 4 affix does drop naturally, I'll get to use the reroll system other ways. Maybe one the secondary stats to get OWE resists or globe for transcendence.

I agree with SimSim, some of you seem to be looking for things to complain. Especially without taking into context what type of game this is.
