I think everyone is just rushing to be the best and everyone needs to slow the fuck down. If you've spent a lot of gold already you may be a little too impatient and therefore have no reason to be bitching. As usual, if you want stuff right away you have to pay the price. Rushing the top tier gem? You deserve to be poor. I've spent like 10m on upgrading gems and another 1m on misc things. I haven't crafted a whole lot because some of the crafted stuff isn't worth it from the research I did.

Also the Reaper crafting mat is confirmed dropping too little by a blue post. So yeah...
That's a ton of fucking gold spent for anyone who didn't poopsock pre-2.0. I don't know how someone who just started playing with RoS will ever get enough gold to reroll items and craft anything.

This is incorrect. Cyclone Strike IS a knockback and it works great with Strongarm Bracers.
Really? The fuck
Well I'm retarded then cause I have 400 hours on my monk and I didn't even realize that. To be fair it doesn't make much sense but that's actually really awesome.

I do agree with that, starting from RoS would suck horribly. I think Blizz wanted the game to be a slow grind in terms in gems/enchanting but instead everyone with tons of gold are just complaining about being poor because they can't control their urge to splurge.

Increasing the gold gain a little would be good but you shouldn't be able to upgrade all your gems on a new account in a week or even a month IMO.

I am glad I sold all the gems I had before the expansion came out. I still do not understand how I got as much gold as I did for them. That alone got me 200 Mil+.

Man it has nothing to do with 'rushing', what is it that people all go back to this dumb argument that people complaining are rushing and should settle down? Do you think the people taking their time won't hit the same wall? Hell they'll hit it harder because their playtime doesn't allow to get anywhere close to accomplishing their goals.

Upgrading gems cost MILLIONS of gold. Using the mystic on a ring or amulet cost a top tier gem, again millions of gold, and you are probably going to have to do it upwards to TEN or TWENTY FUCKING TIMES to get the roll you want. Using the mystic several times on the same item bumps up the price significantly in terms of gold. Crafting some of the legendaries takes extremely rare pieces from very rare mobs (we're talking 5/10+ hours of farming for ONE craft). Said legendaries are for the most part re colored rares with higher rolls, still better than not getting shit from drops, but ONE craft should not take you over 10 hours to get. let alone multiple crafts because you know, RNG.

You have alts? I feel bad for you.

I don't care if you take your time or 'poopsock', you should be able to see how bad the above is in a game where the economy got neutered and the cash flow is extremely slow.

I've started vendoring loot as opposed to salvaging because I'm already swimming in 61+ blue/yellow crafting mats (700+/200+). Each piece sells for several thousand, so it's a good way to supplement income.

Don't waste your breathe arguing with someone that thinks you should have to play for a month before being able to upgrade all your gems. That is just silly and smacks of someone that is sitting on billions and wants to always be ahead of everyone else. Either that, or he is just an idiot.

Yeah I started doing that, then I had a bad streak of mystic luck (would you like +400 sta or +401 sta to replace your +390 sta?) which brought the supply of mats down quite a bit.

That is why I said gold should be earned a little bit quicker. I agree prices are high and gold gain is low currently. I'm not arguing those points.

If you're rerolling your items for a perfect roll AND complaining about gold? Idiotic. Upgrading all your gems right away and complaining about gold? Idiotic. If you're spending all your gold in the first week of RoS you may be a gamer version of a redneck. Blizz has been pretty quick to appease the community the past month, these things are fluid and subject to change. I'll hold onto my 400m gold while upgrading occasionally when I see fit and maybe in a week prices will be cheaper or gold gain will increase. Many people will be poor because the +gooder got to them, not because the prices made them poor.

Yeah lets just max out our gear in less than a month and quit or reroll and never play that character again.. thats what Blizz was shooting for.

Lack of endgame activities after gear is acquired is a culprit too, but we aren't really arguing that right now.

Why in the fuck would you NOT "rush" to craft the top gems that you can? What the derp? You have to acquire the plans, you have to acquire the raw materials, needing millions of gold on top of that is just retarded. Gold doesn't even need to exist anymore.

I just feel like they should remove the gold cap. You hit 300% without even realizing it extremely easily (especially in torment) and for whatever reason every single item in this entire expansion has goldfind on it (but no mf).

That said, farming zombies outside of town on act 1 on torment 6 gives lots of gold.

At that point why have crafted gems at all, might as well drop flawless royals, if there's no cost to them. Which isn't necessarily a bad idea, I guess they just didn't want to say "ok we're removing gold entirely" because it'd feel weird and they're happy with gold sinks as limiters to what you can do.

I don't know I don't really see the complaint too much, sure I had pre ros gold, 100millions to be exact, and after a week of spending on gems, unsocketting, crafting, rerolling shit, I have...100millions. I've basically only spent what I've gained. I've got 2 royal flawless(technically only one, the other I used to craft an awful legendary xbow), some of my gloves are up to 350k per reroll, so yeah don't know. Maybe it's because I'm running with more gold find than other people(not actually looking for the stat). I mean you can get quite a lot of it. Or maybe it's because of playing quite a lot on torment? Higher difficulties drop noticeably more gold.

Very good point here. Tons of people are farming just Normal or Torment I which is better for gear but not necessarily gold. Most people probably have never farmed for gold in D3 unless it was from pots in Act I or some other way that got nerfed instantly. Might need to start doing T2/3/4 for a combination of gear and gold.

I don't have a problem with how much the gems actually cost to upgrade. I have a problem with these expensive gems being used for enchanting and crafting materials. They could leave the gem cost as is if they didn't require crafted items and enchanting to use them as throwaway mats.

Oh the gems being used for crafting is definitely bullshit. It's bad enough farming the legendary material and in some cases finding the white item but then you need like 8millions gold and 81gems on top and they still tax you money to craft the item, and most of them don't have any guaranteed stats or proc or have outdated set bonuses(like lvl 70 cain, what the fuck). They should MAYBE require like royal gems, not flawless royal, but even that seems stupid. The current crafting is fairly shit tbh, it's just much easier to find legendaries and enchant them to fit better than to craft your own shit. That said, I've found like 20legendaries on my DH and none of them was a weapon, so I'm kinda glad I crafted one, even if it rolled pretty shit(but it did have a socket and dex so didn't need to reroll at least).

Talking of legendaries, I have a bunch of really fun legendaries combined together. I have the shoulders that have 20%chance on getting hit to proc fan of knives for 200%weapon damage, thundergod belt that does 100%weapon damage when I get hit, the cloak that makes a 800%weapon damage rocket whenever I get hit by a ranged attack, pox faulds legs that proc a poison cloud when 3 enemies get close to me for 260%weapon damage per second and my old firewalkers for 100%weapon damage where I walk. I do so much damage without even having to do anything, shit dies randomly when I'm not firing at it it's pretty fun.

Should be just like 5+ marquise gems for crafting. That way all these marquise gems actually get used.

Why does blizzard even give a shit now without the RMAH if your character is maxed out in a week? Without trading, and without an AH it doesn't make them more money. If you grind at 70 for 100 hours, which is more time that most people spend in any game by a magnitude of 10 is it so bad if your character is approaching BIS at that point?
