I'm the same way, join in all you want. I know Falstaff, Hatorade, and a few others sometimes hop in my games. Thankfully joining my game doesn't make my game freeze like That BMTaylor guy's mass-identify stuff, a few others do the same thing too though. If it was on hard-core, I'd Fucking be pissed...
The only time I don't like it is if I'm about to log off. I'd prefer people send me a message before joining, because it sucks when you're kiting 3-4 elite packs with the Speed Shrine boost and someone joins your game. But really, the only way I'd get pissed at you joining is if you're you're going to constantly AFK. If I wanted to have AFK assholes in my game, I'd play a Public Game.
It really needs a confirmation or be a double-click. Single-click join is kind of crazy.

Well until they fix the bug, damage% is a lot worse than attack speed% on a non "black" weapon, which is a weapon with physical damage only. If they fix it though it'll be better and you can switch back, on the other hand, there's a solid chance they're not fixing it until next week at least, maybe 2weeks, so your buddy would probably find another and better weapon.

I mean at this very moment the +8% damage is doing practically nothing so you could reroll that, but if when they fix the damage roll to include the elemental damage bonus on weapons retroactively he'll be glad he rerolled the as. But long story short, yeah, just reroll attack speed to be safe either one is about the same result, but keeping the damage has more upside.
And feel free to join my games unannounced if I have quick join enabled. That is what quick join is there for. If you don't want people joining your games, but want to give away caches, either send out invites or take the 3 clicks it takes to enable quick join and then turn it off again.

I can add notes in the roster(not sure if everyone can see them/setting for it), so if you see a tell from me asking for name from the boards that is why.They need to allow nick names on your friends list, so I know who everyone is. And you for sure can join games by clicking names in Clan chat.
Hate is literally the NSA keeping a folder on all the members and not making it public. What does he have to hide?

Turn the mobs/demons/fetishes/ghosts/gay-horsies all gay so they commit mass suicide? Yeesh!
I run the Graffes mumble server (since I run Graffes) and it's always available, though I haven't spent a lot of time fucking with it since no one ever uses it. If needed, I can just poke it with a stick to make sure everything is working and people can use that. Graffes runs on donations and costs $300/year, so if people want to use it, I just ask that you consider throwing a couple bucks in.
