Monster HP gets so high, I have no clue how a DH would kill stuff all the way to level 100.
Yeah that's the thing I'm wondering, survivability isn't an issue for DH with the way it's designed with smokescreen+that legendary bug thing, but killing mobs in time seems like it'd be problematic without furnace to chunk them down to 10% or exploding palm to do 100% mob hp dmg after killing one.

Firebirds new op fotm inc?

A Modest 6 Piece Firebirds Proposal TO FIX IT - Forums - Diablo III

We are, indeed, redesigning the 6-Piece Set Bonus for Firebird's Finery. In this case, it's been completely redesigned, though we do want to keep Fire thematically appropriate to the set. We've removed the on-death qualifier from the set bonus, and dealing Fire damage will now cause enemies to start burning for the same amount of damage over 3 seconds, stacking up to a total of 3000% weapon damage as Fire per second. Once that cap is reached, enemies will instead burn until they die.

You'll be able to give this new set bonus a try in the next PTR patch, which we should be looking at arriving pretty soon. As always, be sure to let us know what you think when you give it a whirl!

Too bad dots don't work offscreen in D3, otherwise you could just meteor run meteor run non stop and shit would just burn down while you're moving around, and you'd only go back when you see legendary popup on minimap. Guess the big buff though is the fact it's not actually on kill anymore, so it'll be useful when there's no trash around to kill to proc it. It's more or less a permanent 3000%wpd dot on hit, sounds pretty good even though not sure it's worth the slots.

Noob question but is there any stragetic approach to getting various set items or legendaries or is everything 100% random so basically just aimless grind the most effective bounties and do rifts?

I am 70/25 I think and have crafted a 3 piece set of green gear I got that at least gives me some decent + elite damage/prot, and ranged/melee protection. Also have a legendary weapon/source.

I've only done 1 rift but had a few good drops, i did it on expert because I wasn't sure if things were timed or if I died I got kicked out etc. Should I just do bounties until I gear abit better so I can handle T1 rifts fair enough? I can do T1 bounties with some pain (80% goes well, and other elite/bosses kill me in 5 secs and I have to zerg them).

Running a cold ray/blizz spec on the wizard at the moment mainly because I got the source with cold ray penetration perk and 2 of my crafted green have + blizz damage but I really want to look at frozen orb spec of some sort.

I found if i want a certain item i just blow all my blood shards on that slot until it turns up, got me like 4 of my set pieces. only real way to somewhat cherry pick what you want.

Ok thanks. Guessing its pretty low odds and takes a fuck ton. Probably only spent 350 shards maybe and all blues and yellows.

So the new, new change to the Firebird wizard set seems interesting... This new bonus actually sounds good. Imagine a high stack MM/Conflag + the set bonus... This also could definitely open up a better build for Hydra-Sprinkler (Mammoth), Mirrorball build.

Bleh, I can't decide what I want to play. I enjoy DH, but I am so damn tired of kiting. That and all day of a1 split farming for a RoRG have left me a little irritated with it (damn thing dropped a nagelring on my 89th bounty just to troll me). Tried crusader but the resource management annoys me. Only just got 70 on it and doing a blessed hammer fire build since I have no gear yet and I can't stand the build.

Any suggestions on what you guys recommend is fun to play at lower torments before a ton of gear?

Stick with the crusader till you get a gryfalcon's foote. then you'll enjoy it a whole ton more. a jekangbord is just gravy on top of that.

Worth gambling for Gryfalcon's?

I haven't gambled 15 shard items but after 4k now for cindercoat or marauder's, I'm kind of hating my DH!

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but if you think 4k shards is significant, you may be playing the wrong game. I was in the 14,000 range before I finally gave up trying to get my hexing pants.

took about 18k for hexing pants yeah... i thought 8k for taskers was bad. I farmed up about 6k shards on my WD to gear up my DH and got 6/6 marauders and 2/2 natalyas and a fuckton of shit leg gloves (Trying to get a dex taskers).

Nah, I don't think its bad. Just not liking the class enough. Seems weird to do 4k without seeing a single legendary chest though. I've tossed who knows how many legendary helms on my WD in only like 500 shards.

What didn't you like about blessed hammer? The fire rune isn't that great until you can take advantage of the extra damage it does, so it's only suited for higher torments. Give the holy rune a try and basically stutter step instead of stop and cast. Hammer few steps hammer few steps, repeat. Things you don't kill will chase after you and will be killed by the next few hammers you cast. Save your cooldowns for fatties, don't kill them just with hammers. Blessed hammer is the easiest build to go generator-less.

All foote is good for is making players think they can play on a higher torment than they should because they don't have to worry about resource management. It's quite easy to run a blessed shield build without foote AND no wrath builders. It's not that great a build since getting nerfed anyway.
