How does this work? I have only done 3 greater rifts and all 3 we cleared really quickly and then killed the boss.Yea, if you are just going to stare at your screen for those minutes, it's dumb. But my DH for sure is getting legs faster this way than in regular rifts, and I can do other stuff in the downtime. It's win/win
I'm assuming the build you linked is a farming build or something. You have Steed Charge is what makes me think that. With your gear, you'll need a fast primary like Justice/Whatever. Pair it with Blessed Hammer/Burning Wrath. Change the utility to Condemn. Switch your law to Law of Valour. As an aside, I don't know much about anything other than DH (and I wouldn't touch the class as long as using sentry is required, fuck that skill) so I'm curious if I'm doing anything horribly wrong with my crusader:
Katatonia - Community - Diablo III(I have Akkhan gloves, but no RoRG, and no matter how many times I reroll them it refuses to give me CHD.)
Basically just spec'ing around the gear that happens to drop so far, but I can do T3 comfortably when solo by abusing Unity. When grouped though, we have been capping out at around grift 16 and I feel like I'm the one holding us back.
Kill the boss with 4.5(?) minutes or less left on the timer and your next rift upgrade is only +1 level. Just don't screw up and let the timer run completely out while doing whatever you decide to do to kill time while waiting. How does this work? If you let the timer run out without killing anything, does the boss spawn or do you get nothing?
Yeah, I played a DH with Danetta's set almost exclusively back in the spring. I definitely do not think of Steed as a "fast movement" skill.Steed is very useful for getting out of sticky situations, don't think of it as just a fast movement skill.
What Vorph said. The goal for leg farming (for not high-end characters) is to just up the G rift level by 1 each time. If you let the timer run out, you can still kill the boss when you spawn him, but you can only choose the gem upgrade option. How does this work? No you kill the boss with less than 4 minutes remaining so the key only goes up to the next lvl so you don't skip any. The problem is in earlier grift lvls you may have 5-9 minutes before you can kill the boss. So what people do in this down time is bounties. You can't see the timer when you're not in the grift so you have to keep tabs on the time, do a bounty or two, and then enter the rift again through your tp. In order to not screw up your tp, while doing bounties use the map to teleport, do not cast town portal. However even if you do screw up your tp and say you have a friend at the boss and you won't make it back in time that person can still kill the boss and you'll still get the loot and chance to talk to the chick. I was concerned because rift bosses you must be near the kill, but that does not apply in grifts. How does this work? Crusader doesn't have sticky situations until T5-6.Steed is very useful for getting out of sticky situations, don't think of it as just a fast movement skill.

Works about the same on console. Force stop is built in if you cast anything. I can stutter step around basically casting hammers if I want just by holding down Blessed Hammer, and holding the joystick for movement. You are right, that does help, but I play with a bunch of wizards, that blackhole, and rain down hell. I shield bash in, pop sheild glare, and condemn right away, start my hammers, but before it gets really good, most things are dead, or on their way.The best way to combat blessed hammer's windup time is to mix in movement. Assign blessed hammer to left click and hold it down. When you want to cast a hammer, hit space or left shift or whatever you have 'force stop' bound to. Then start moving again. Anything that wants to attack you will be met by the next 2-3 hammers you cast as they chase you. Helps slightly if you don't want to pickup yellows and blues.
Not sure if this is possible on console.

The flip side is that if I went with something like bombardment, I'd be just as upset at the down time. Can't win!
Because the way the gear has been dropping, I was about equal on Fire and Holy damage percents, so was trying to maximize it. But I agree, having both spenders is kind of stupid. Derp derp. I love the movement provided by Shield Bash, but love the AoE from Hammers. Thought I was doing right by mixing. Why are you using shield bash and blessed hammer?
